Agreed.. However, its time for Ash to leave and replace with Zunaid, Kapali, Aftab (any one of them)

5. Rocks
6. Shakib

8. Khaled Mashud Pilot (WK)
9. Shahdat
10. Rubel
11. Shafiul/Enam jr
And yes, no Ash!...and I am not a hater/lover...I just think he needs a break! We need a senior player, Pilot will be enough for that.

If we can bring back Pilot, why not Javed Omar????

8. shakib (needs to bat lower down the order until he gets his form right)
9. Shahadat
10. Rubel (maybe enamul if it is going to be a turner)
11. Shafiul islam
Rajin is not a long term pick, but for this match if zunaid is out of touch i can see no harm in bringing him in. He is patient and as far as I am aware has not had the chance to link up with Siddons yet, so the coach could do wonders with someone with his sort of temperament.
I would drop both ash and nafees. Ash definitely needs to be dropped, nafees could do a job with the bat but he'd have to come much lower down the order, somewhere like 6 or 7.
I toyed with the idea of changing the bowling attack (perhaps bringing in Robin), but shafiul and rubel showed enough promise to be persevered with. It's not often that the Bangladeshi bowlers bowl consistently faster than their Indian counterparts, but that's what happened in Chotto Gram.
An extra spinner would be helpful, but bringing in enam would weaken the batting too much, which is why I've gone for Naeem instead. He had a good ODI series (like riyad) and could take that form into the test series.
The selectors will do nothing so bold. I think either ash or nafees will be dropped, not both. As you can see, I'd drop both...
|
That is pretty much what I have been contemplating.
It is a tad bit unfair for me to be asking for SN to sent back but the selectors did him a huge disservice by bringing him on straight from the T20 world without having had him adjust to the long form.
I really do want to have Ash dropped now and not give him the "let him at least end the series". I am afraid of an Eid (but still a loss) that entrenches his position for the next 20 Tests with no positive impact to any future probability of a Test win versus a G8 country. Give him a watch and let him go. Give his replacement a chance to ramp up given that we have the Kiwi and the England tour ahead to look forward.
I must say - I have never felt this positive generally about Bangladesh cricket before. I am finally starting to see some depth and choices for the national team. We no longer have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and come up with the likes of Shanto or Tushar.

Mushy and the stump microphone-this combination has been our 12th batsman, in case you missed it. Pilot who?

We should start thinking about new spinners like Saqlain sajib and Suhrawardy. Enam jr is not effective against G8 and he has not got good domestic record either.

If you are feeling that positive about the current team, why do you want to bring back Rajin?!!!

Because I believe in Rajin and he _is_ part of the depth. (Btw - Bangladesh cricket in general, not particularly about this team composition)
I also believe in Alok.
There - go for it.

I believe in Alok more than Rajin, he is test material alright, but not a lot of runs though

I knew Alok was silesian - is Rajin one too? Damn - what do I know. Perhaps my national team should be composed of North Bengalis only - Parochialism wins!

More or less, I like your team. However to make my team unique, I would replace the following player in my ream...
Javed Omar instead of Tamim. Tamim still have lots to lern from Gullu how to stay. This will be a demo to Tamim for future.
Bashar instead of Ryiad. Bashar will not fall into Zahir's trap.
Tushar replacing Sakib.
Enamul Sr. instead of Enamul Jr. Spinners ripe with age.
Pilot instead of Rahim. Now that he scored a century, most likely he will score two ducks. Time to give some well deserved break.
I think this team will have enough experience, enough (dead) wood to burn to keep them warm and burn the opponent with fire.

I think it's a good idea to bring Zunaid back, he can't be worst than Shahriar or Imrul. Beaides he is better in Test.

Junaed has to replace someone. We missed a good slip filder in the first game. Don't care about his batting.

And that got to be SN. If Zunaed should return for his fielding alone, SN should leave for the same cause (even if you disregard how clueless he looked as a batsman).

Yes. His fielding sucked even more than his batting. One of Ash or SN should make a way for Zunaed.
