Default Shakib targets ODI series win in New Zealand

Just saw on NTv news. According to Shakib, they had a team meeting prior to the flight and they will target the ODI series win in New Zealand. He was appearing as a confident lad, a sharp contrast to his last appearance in the press conference after the Test match debacle.

I will be happy if they can win at least one ODI. New Zealand condition is pretty difficult for sub-continent teams and they will have no time to acclimatize.

I have full faith on sakib

but I was so shocked after 2nd test disaster.

If opposition team is weak,we neglect them and loose
if team is too strong we give up hope before match starts

how could u neglect team like India
we should have try to make draw in both test, that could have been victory for us

Even 200 target, we could fight against India in last innings

specially after such a great start.

good, they should be targeting to win this series, they genuinely have a chance to win this series. anything less than a ODI series win will be a failure. they have a chance in the test match as well but i'll just be happy if they can pull out a draw there, win would be a bonus.

Nope! I have heard it clearly. Shakib wants to win every match of the ODI series.

Thanks for your support, I hope our team can show some fight in the batting department.

Hopefully, we will get to see you on TV. Also, I hope you will get to meet the players, somebody from BC can put you in touch with the media manager of our team.

Before the tri-series, Shakib said they would be playing for wins, would try to get into the final, but afterwards he said it was good enough the team scored 250+ in each match (though we still lost by big margins). IMO, his words don't hold any real value.

100% correct. They make a super-bold statement before a match or series, and then they back-track and play up how they achieved crappy little targets like scoring more than 250. The story shouldn't change over the course of a series. If the target is to win the ODI series, then they have to stick by that goal and not come up with lame excuses afterwards.

considering that our pace head is back, shahadat has showed good form and nazmul will complement well in the pace attack with shakib spinning - i think we cud restrict NZ and our batsmen can definitely chase. fingers crossed

That is the spirit. No matter who are we playing, where are we playing, we should always target to win every single match. Otherwise, what's the point of playing? Probably we will lose all three games, but the target and goal should be to win them all
I was sort of expecting to see Zunayed in the ODI team, specially considering his performance compared to other top orders.
