Default Ashraful has got to go.

Alright pplz, I know he doesn't deserve his own thread and I know this topic has been discussed a million times and no I'm not an Ashraful hater and no I'm not trying to find a scapegoat for the recent losses... but the time has come for him to go... The figures don't stack up in any form of the game and he has run out of lifelines... purely and simply... he HAS to go... Any thoughts or reasons why he should NOT be dropped???

If Ash has to go, so does Rakibul. Both equally fail.

"cough" riyad, naeem "cough". really silly that these 2 aren't being given chances further up the order, mushy could probably be pushed up even in oen-dayers.

nooo cos then we'l have imrul and zunaed in the team, which isnt very good isit
i agree ash and rock have to go
i think we do need to try aftab as a one down batsman for BD, he possibly cannot do any worse than what ash is doing.
and i think S.nafees stil has a spot in the BD lineup, because 'he plays spin well'. so plzzz selectors do nottt let him bat at #3, let him take rock's spot directly and bat at #4
i still think imrul is no good, everytime he crosses 15 runs he does it so painfuly with so many lives, but keep him for now. eventually though, change him for an u19 debutant or NCL performer or even junaed maybe

rony talukder and maybe nazmus sadat are openers who could be given ago, i'd try nazmus first to give rony a bit more time.

So unfair. Ash has only 150+ ODI chances so far. Give him at least another 200 matches or so before making such a rash decision. Especially since there is no one else to replace him. Same goes for Raqibul.

However, the rest of the top batting order candidates (Kayes, Aftab, Zunaid, SN) should be on notice and replaced after 1 or 2 chances and on constant rotation.

Tamim should be checked to see if truly is a Bangladeshi. This constant improvement in match over match regardless of opponent brings up questions.

i cant agree more. ASH is our KING ! no one has ever born to replace him ! so fans, dnt u ever dare to think about to replace ASH. He has got a full free membership card in the team. he has to remain as long as ASH wants.

and for Tamim, he should learn how to bat from ASH, Raqibul and how to make misuse of good batting form from Mr. SHAKIB. No one is so much experienced than SHAKIB regarding misusing a good bating form. SACK TAMIM ! he is making others look ordinary.

I'm sure the BD selectors will drop him as soon as he gets close to overtaking Ash as the leading BD run getter.

HHS, You only have one agenda as it may seem. Jamie Siddons!!!

He is with us till 2011. You want to take a break and come back after 2011.

When the whole world says Ashraful needs a break, you seem to agree with Jamie Siddons that he needs to stay in the team. What an irony!!!

Can anyone tell me how much a Bangla Movie Ticket cost in Dhaka cinema hall these days? Say a 6 or 9 o'clock show?

Ashraful seems always to be the one that triggers the collapse. If you have noticed this. He comes in one down, and either he loses his wicket in quick succession or while he is on crease, BD loses a wicket, he lose his one almost immediately and hence starts the collapse. I have hardly seen him building a partnership (may be one or twice in his 150+ match. He got to go for the better of the team and for him. JS is I think wrong to say that there is no one in the wing as close to him. I beg to differ.

With ashraful bangladesh has no future , if you can't learn after 10 years of international that only mean he is a below average batsman

Exactly! one down is a very tough position and an important one too. If u play well the others follow. Opening was a problem before. But the openers has been starting pretty strong. It was Ash's job to continue this. The only reason Tamim got out because he had to score because the nutcase Ash and Roqib were playing the worst test innings.

Does the first ODI prove our point Ash lovers??? He needs to go. I dun even think he has any confidense at all after his continous poor performence. Sometimes he will play well but costing the entire game. 45 of 90.....

Also i have been saying all along, Roqib and Ash is not for ODI, well Ash is not for cricket eitherways but they need to be replaced by Aftab and Kapali. There are some pretty good players in the league which BD might start considering.

But Ash is over. Sorry for being rude but fact is fact

I have a request..pls give Ash couple of chances in lower middle over before dropping him.
Bring Aftab instead of Rok thoug i dont believe Aftab will do any better.

Ash must be bribing the selectors - why else does he continue to play. if u want to keep experience in the line-up for the sake of it then bring in Bashar.

Raf mia bhai, eta ki mama'r bari? ek ta abdar korlei holo? With the exception of #16, all position has been tested. So the only position he can play at is #16 for the team. The bonus on this position is, he would be in a comfort zone. Home surrounding will help him to be a perfect #16, minimum a run of 10 games.

#6. Thats where he should play. Let him play his natural srokeplay there.
He is unable to handle the pressure at #3. As if he is at #3 against his will.

So we had players come and go like Tushar, Hannan, Mithun, Mehrab, Nafees ...no one is able to cement their place...it is not easy to be number 3 and 4. These 2 slots must be given to someone with strong nerve with superior temperament like Mushfiq.
