To me its not a surprise, i thought we were the worst, but some consolidation there

The way crime has been going on in the city, I am pretty sure we will be first soon.....

Crime & safety comes way down in the list....
we are struggling with some of the basic amenities (transportation, safe water etc) cities in modern civilization is suppose to provide...

How on earth a city like Dhaka can cope with its 20+ million timing population? We need Billions of $$$ investment in the city if want to clim up that list any time soon.

They can place Dhaka in whatever rank they want in whatever category they desire. To me, though, it will ALWAYS be the greatest city in the World.

Yea sure, Port Moresby and Lagos are more liveable than Dhaka, speak to anyone who has lived in both Lagos and Dhaka (I know 4 people who have done so)

It looks like cheap booze was the main factor they used in this survey

This ranking is no better than the one they did for the countries. Ranking Dhaka lower than Mogadishu, lagos, Yangoon just shows that whoever compiled the list did it like a lottery.

And I wouldnt rate Melbourne that high either, definitely not in the top 10.

U r right & don't forget the Loadshading issue,overpopulated.
BTW,is this ranking done by ICC or Cricinfo.
I don't agree to this ranking thgh.
In terms of safety Johanesburg is worse & I am sure there are worse cities than Dhaka but as u,me & others mentionned about the basic amenities we can hardly go against this ranking.
Who cares I love Dhaka.

I think Vancouver is too dead to be at number 1. Isn't leisure/culture a part of the criteria? And I'm not talking about going skiing every weekend at Whistler. I love Vancouver though, perfect for me.

Plus, Perth and Adelaide ahead of Brisbane? Puh-lease. Clearly this list has issues.

Ahhh.. Dhaka. That city reminds me of a circus. No, a zoo, where all the animals have been let loose. It's sick and needs help. It's infected with millions of parasites also known as the middle and upper classes.

Just read this http://www.thedailystar.net/newDesig....php?nid=22175

I understand the love for it, it feels so much like home even for me. We got the lucky end of the stick though. The problems are undeniable, it can't continue in this way.

So, I was trying to find the entire list of all 140 cities and guess what ... It costs 3,000 dollars to view the entire report and find what cities are ranked 20-130

way.
You got real issues. Whats so "parasite" about middle and upper classes? They are just honest hard working people with families like anyone from any other city.

Dhaka is marmite city. You will love it for some reasons and hate it for others. Currently there are a few too many reasons to hate it and while sentiments like my family lives there or I grew up there are very nice and all, it's not just about you or me but also the millions of others living there in scour.

I was talking about myself.
Its not the best city in the world, i know that.
I live thru this hell everyday.
But for factors and values i cannot replace, this is the best city in the world for me.
Thats all i meant.
