Default my new 5 faves for england series and why i am supporting them?

new series coming up and we are very exciting to see some tough fight and witnessing some win and which will take our cricket in different level.
we never beat england in any format and i think this is the only country left now and i have full confidence in our day, we can take them down and create some new history.

our current team has fighting spirit and ability. sakib has proved himself--he is here to rule world cricket. we have batsman like tamim and mr dependable mushfiq and finisher mahmudullah. in ODI, we have great finisher like naeem islam.
Our main worry in test match was pace attack but shafiul, rubel and shahadat stepped up and proved what they are capable of.

I am hoping mashrafe will return in ODI series.

right now the main worry are off form ashraful, ICL returnee aftab, totally off form rokibul, junaed never looked good in ODI anyway, shahadat is also not best in ODI format. I think we have some opportunity to introduce some new talent in our home ground. world cup is coming up, we need to have strong reserve bench.

after checking stats and performances--it seems to me this 5 deserve chance in this series. i am hoping they will get chance in BCBXI team and will show their worth.

my top 5

1. Shohrawardi Shuvo--- definitely he deserve a chance here. he can replace razzaq and strenghten our batting line up, he could be a vital part of BD spin attack. He has excellent record as an under 19 level and since then he is performing in every format.he has potential of becoming 2nd best allrounder in BD team

2. Faisal Hossain--- some guys might say--his techniques are not good, blah blah.. but this guy is in super form and he has shown tremendous patience and scoring capability with consistency. he did well in indian A tour and SAF academy tour also. his bowling can be effective also in some matches. In domestic he had to face bowlers like subhashis, talha, rasel, najmul, robin, robiul, saqlain sajib, nabil samad and others. i am not sure how bad technique he has but getting run in consistent basis is not easy things to do

3. Farhad hossain---another great find in this years NCL. though he has been there for last couple years but this year he got most attention for his high scoring capability. he can be a vital part of our top order batting and replace off form Ash/aftab/rokibul/junaed

4. saqlain sajib---- at this moment according to wkt taking capability, he is the best spinner and another name of terror to the batsman. seems like taking 5 wkt is most easiest thing in the world for him

5. Juhurul islam Omi--- very consistent and top run maker. his another plus point is his capabilty of wicket keeping. though he is not keeping this year's NCL in rajshahi team but he surely can keep. I hope he can keep better than mushfiq rahim

rest--why i dont want them
1. why i dont want ICL returnee---- i have no issue with ICL or our ICL players. But most are not in great touch and nafees and aftab proved that. alok is struggling in the NCL, farhad reza, najimuddin are not noticeable. bashar is another great performer but his age is against him and he is considering retirement. Mosharraf rubel is outclassed by spinner like saqlain sajib and elias sunny and we already have enam JR

2. discarded players: rajin, hannan, nafis iqbal, tushar, mehrab jr----none of them proved they are in great form. they are even struggling in NCL how we can expect them to perform in national level. IF any national players fail, they shouldnt get automatic call to fill up the position. they should earn it

3. promising players like: marshall, shamsur, najmus sadat,dollar,ziaur---failed to prove consistency

4. under 19 players like anamul hauque, sabbir, mahmudul, noor hossain, saikat, tasamul, mominul---- still need few years to develop and it wud be too early for them. some of them are making their first class debut this year and some are yet to be debut, so leaving them alone at this moment wud be best idea

check the stats of recent NCL.

i think they earned it and they deserve a call. They have shown enough performance, hard working, and intention to do well. i am sure next time, others will be inspired by them. thats why i think this 5 deserve a national team call.

As Bashar has retired I would go with Decance. He can be a valuable addition to our batting. But the players we are planning to replace in ODIs both possess best records against England. Selectors might consider that and stick with the current line-up.

I think that would be rather silly. This England side is a completely new one for our players. I sure hope the selectors aren't that stupid. Either way, they do have quite a few pacers, and so Aftab may not be so bad in the ODIs.

I'm also keen on getting Faisal Hossain into the team ASAP. Our middle order is incredibly brittle.

Let's hope he doesn't fade away as fast though.

saqlain sajib---- 6 match, 48 wicket

that means almost 40% of opposition wicket he has taken
6 match-12 innings---- not sure if every team plays both innings.
that means out of 120 possible wicket--he took 48 wkt--exact 40% wkt he took

I think Saqlain Shajib is the best bet. The way he is getting 5fers is unbelievable. He should be a perfect replacement for Razzak.
As for Shuvo, if he comes in the team he will not replace Razzak, he will replace Mullah/Nayeem. Which i simply dont want to see at this moment.
Farhad hossain, Faisal hossain could easily fit into the middle order.

Silly it is. I do not think you were as dumb as them to figure out Aftab in the test squad against NZ. Hope they choose with due diligence this time.

in fact i dont want any players under 20 to make odi or test debut before wc 2011.

let them go on tours as u-19 or academy teams or include some in A, B teams and send them on tours to play some more FC cricket.

come on guys lets be real now, course we all shuvo/saqlain or a new batsman to replace ash in our team.
but how many of us her ACTUALLY think that is going to happen?
siddon's public comment about ash was just a mere warning so ash should pull up his sleeve, he is not getting replaced
shuvo or saqlain will not debut in this coming month
take my word for it

One thing our selectors need to be cautious that both Jahuru and Farhad's list A average is very poor so if they are called for the national team on the basis of this FC only then they should be called for tests only.On the other hand Faisal's both FC and list A both averages are very good.

The only problem with Sajib is that he is a left arm orthodox. we already have one (sakib). We really need a genuine off spinner, although I am not quite positive whether we have any quality offie at this point.

I have a feeling he's really going to be dropped this time. I've never thought so before. He's gone...

I think Shuvo and Faisal should make the cut. Shuvo has been consistently performing but just never got the cut. Same with Faisal. If management decides to give Sajib and Farhad a chance instead of Shuvo and Faisal I would be really disappointed. If I were Shuvo I'd think about stop playing cricket.
