Default Shubhagoto Hom Das Chowdhury

His name has been declared in reports as Shuvogoto Hom, Shovagoto Chowdhury, Shuvogoto Das,... Frankly could care less what his real name is- all I know is this kid looks like a real talent. He has overtaken Shamsur Shuvo, Marshal Ayub as a potential middle-order candidate and has shown enormous temperament as well as hitting ability in whatever matches he played this season. Lets see how he does in A-team tours and hopefully in a couple of years time, he can be the solution to our middle order once we finally give up hope on Ashraful/Aftab.

Well, he has to go long way...before he could be picked up for the national team. And he has to work heard to do so day in day out. We have lots of talent like Aftab who just wait for results without giving the efforts, unfortunately!

i would be happy to give him a chance in some t20 matches, he's got a bit of experience in one-day cricket because he's played some DPL (still not that much but some), so they should put some time into him because i reckon he's a possible chance to make the WC squad next year and if that's the case we want him to be as ready as he can be. same goes for guys likenasir hossain, shabbir rahman, anamul haque, mahmudul hasan, alauddin babu, we need to get them ready because there's a decent chance that a couple of them could make the squad (certianly the prelim squad) and if they make the squad then there is a chance they could play and they need to be ready.

Equinox ur team is not bad

but think abt kapali as a captain twice

he was captain for ghazi tank with full of star
still team didn't go top 8 position

he was captain for ncl and his team is secured last position

shabbir rahman, mitun ali, anamul haque, alauddin babu, sajidul islam, nasir hossain, shamsur rahman, rony talukder, mahmudul hasan imo all have a shout for an A team call-up so it will be interesting to see what the squad looks like when it's announced. shabbir rahman especially i'd like to see in the A team and nasir hossain should probably be there since they called him up to the national squad in this series.

Too early to bring him at the national level. He needs to score at least two centuries for the next two years before getting the BD cap. Mohammod Shuvo also amazing FC bowling stats but didn't look the player the stats suggested.

IMO, Sabbir, Anamul, Mahmudul, and Alauddin first should be shaped up through the academy, before being thrown into the A-team.

i can agree on that for the most part, but i think there are a couple of exceptions. i'll agree with you on anamul, mahmudul and alauddin although i don't see why they can't get a couple of A team games whilst being in the academy. shabbir i feel is one of those players who can handle a quicker rise, we shouldn't throw him into the deep end but i think he can handle A team cricket as well as anyone else currently in BD. shabbir has done well with the bat at all levels so far, bowling he did well in u19s, in NCL he hasn't done much with the ball but from memory he hasn't bowled that much so hard to say where he is with the ball i guess.

I think Selectors will declare A team like this,

Shahriar nafees
Imrul kayes
Junayed siddiqi
Razin Saleh
Mehrab Jr
Mohd Ashraful
(someone never been in the main 11 in NCL)
Dolar Mahmud
Syed Rasel
Nazmul Hossain
Enamul Jr

And you end up again having no new player to experiment or promote. why do these newcomers play cricket still in NCL? I would have left cricket in disgust if I were a player.

189 runs in 9 overs with Shubhagoto scoring 91* from 30 balls was, as the numbers suggest, a farce!

That being said, both Shubhagoto Das and Sabbir Ahmed Rumman look to be stylish and exciting players with tremendous potential to develop into successful International cricketers when the time comes. Based on the very little that I've seen of both, Shubhagoto seems to have better temperament, and less prone to the type of brainfarting that do not transform "potential" into "talent" at the highest level. He will probably be selected before Rumman. Probably into a T20I side.

Both players need EXTENSIVE Academy and then A Team exposure to learn to apply what they have through hard work and focus, before coming into the senior side.

How old is he? I don't want another teenager thrown to the international wolves again.

Don't get me wrong, but he looks like an Indian player. His built, height......pretty impressive. I have heard loads about this bloke, hope he can really excel.
PS: Don't let the 30 ball 91 fool you,

Not all the indian players have shuvo's build..shewag and tendulkar are rather short and stocky..kind of like how ash/aftab are built..gambhir is also a short dude..shuvo's build though is more like rahul dravid's..tall and a pretty muscular build..our batsmen though do have pretty good build..tamim is tall and has got a strong build, zunaid is very tall and lanky but he still is not stick..hes got some meat on him..imrul and roqibul are short but very powerful batsmen..they seem 2 have broad shoulders and thick arms..ash has pretty broad shoulders now but is very short..mushy is just tiny and aftab is mr. chubbs lol..overall though i honestly dont think the indian batsmen and bangladeshi batsmen have much of a difference in terms of height and build..

Cook and carberry fed them with juicy deliveries to get a quick declarationa and have some batting practice. We should not & must not judge him by that innings
