The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is expected to announce the final squad today for the tour of Zimbabwe next month.
Although the team was due to be named yesterday, it was learnt that the selectors wanted some more time before finalising the side as chief selector Faruque Ahmed only returned to Dhaka from Pakistan yesterday morning.
"We didn't get the team from the selectors today as they were still discussing. We hope to receive the names tomorrow. Then we will select a captain from that list and officially announce the team," said BCB's media committee chairman Reazuddin Al Mamun last evening.
When contacted, Faruque also said that the selection committee would submit the team for Zimbabwe some time today.
Sources claim that another reason for the delay in announcing the squad was the disagreement among concerned personalities in the Board regarding the Test future of all-rounder Khaled Mahmud who had led the Tigers in their last seven Tests.
