BanglaCricket army for Lords Test 2010

Attention UK BC members.

I am planning to organise a BanglaCricket army for the Lords Test which starts on 27 May 2010.

There will be a big BanglaCricket banner and we will have large Bangladesh flags with us.

We can also organise some fancy things like BanglaCricket T shirt and/or body painting with Bangladesh and BanglaCricket.

I will arrange photosession and autograph of the Bangladesh national team members as an incentive to the members who will join Banglacricket army.

We may go for the cheapest ticket option so it is affordable to everyone although grand stand would be better.

UK BC Members who are willing to join please send your coontact details via PM to me and post your plan and intentions in this thread.

Please feel free to post your ideas.

This will be a BC initiative to promote BC in the mainstream television media.

which stand your planing for?


the cheapest stand(£30) is Compton Stand lower tier, which is not a good angle for a view.

Why join this? when I can invite the whole team to my restaurant again. TBH I would only invite Tamim, Robin, Mash and Junaid, the rest are kinda nerdy.

Ah I've just posted a msg in the other thread...

Hey some of very good ideas about marketing Bangladeshi cricket in UK. Has anyone given any more thoughts or done anything about it? Is there any UK supporters' group? I have heard one such group during T20 world cup, they had couple of meetings about getting tickets for the india game but thats about it (no i didn't turn up as I already had my ticket).

Anyone interested in forming such group knowing that there are lots of UK Bangladeshis here in this forum (I am not volunteering to take the lead but ok to participate). To start with,
- organise going & watching the matches together, it is more fun to watch in a group than by yourself. Traveling together for matches held outside London (assuming most of us are in London)
- create banners etc. to take to the match.
- Action some of the ideas suggested above in order to get more people encouraged to go to the matches.

taking it further -
- ask ECB for discounted price for buying tickets in bulk to get more people interested.
- during world cup next year, organise big screen TV (prob need to talk to Sky) in places like Victoria park or other areas around east end.
