Haire manush. We are making headlines for 'paan' related reason now, that too in NY Times. I see this happen every time I go to jackson heights. Forget paan, roja mashe tow mone hoi manush second e dosh bar thu thu falai rastar upor.

I get three basic responses in BC to most disagreements in general
i) I am actually anti-bd which is why my criticism of a player/team is not valid
ii) I have personal bias towards a players which is why i don't "get" it
iii) I don't understand cricket

That applies for many people here. Including me.

Not too sure about the 3rd one. Australia is a mighty opponent to face. I am not excited about that.

Salman Khan... reminded me of the days of cable tv in BD when I would switch channels immediately when Salman's face was on tv... There was no escape from Hindi channels in BD. Does he still take off his shirt with every opportunity?

Dhaka is great atm...half the city left ahead of schedule. We've barely had any loadshedding the last couple of months, and I've completed all my Eid shopping(with the exception of something for my dad), though my credit card isn't looking brilliant
Some general observations
Artisti - GTFO, the **** they are selling is beyond belief. 8-9k for panjabis that look like at best they are worth tk.2000
Deshi dosh - seriously what are you doing?
lubnan - props
chaiti - screw you
various saree outlets - hope you enjoy my hard earned you evil doers, except for the good folk in mirpur(benarashee palli). So the location isn't brilliant, and the shops don't look great, but the range of sarees and their pricing(saree at bashundhara 25k, exact same saree in mirpur - Tk8500) You want great sarees, look no further.
* I do not own a shop there
