Nice to see people jealous of India's no1 position.

^ I know right. Unless people are jealous of you its no fun. As long as India became number 1 by beating people fair and square its all good to me.

I dunno which team deserves it more if not India. ICC rankings are a bit flawed but still India have earned the #1 and are not there by fluke.

1st Tour Match

Australians 319/1(90 overs)

Watson 115
Katich 104
Ponting 42*
Clarke 43*

I really hope the pitches in India produce results..0-0 draw is the last thing I want..

I agree with you. I think Australia's domination earlier make everyone to think a no 1 team should be great like that. Atm the quality of cricket gone down which is applicable to every team. India emerge as the best closely followed by RSA and Australia.
Btw in my opinion RSA is the best side.

I agree that Australia has set some very high standards that any no1 team will find almost impossible to match. I really get annoyed when people suggest that India's no1 position is undeserving or somehow we managed a short cut into it.

tai botey ! they should up the total limit for this series, all the players are so costly ! I'm not sure I can get a playing 11 within that limit.

If someone like avimannyu mithun is the strike bowler of a no. 1 team; then yes, this ranking stuff is nothing but a fluke.
period

by that token pakistan should top the charts because of aamer don't you think ?
oh wait, I forgot that they can't guarantee a score of 100+ each time they go out to bat.

I would really like to see this non-fluke ranking stuff you have devised.

seriously though, how the heck does it matter what one bowler does if the team wins on a regular basis ?

what does him bowling has anything to do with them being number 1? there is no rule in the book that says the number 1 team in the world has to have dale steyn, mcgrath. You do know that he made his test debut like 3 months ago. India had already been 1 one even before that.

Ya and I like watching Sehwag bat too..on Australia's side I like watching Ponting and Hussey bat..bowling wise I like to see Khan, Hilfenhaus and Johnson bowl..both teams are really loaded with very good players and it will be exciting to see who ends up winning..

I'm picking Australia for the 1st test since India almost always starts the series slowly and ends strong..I mean they even started poorly against us..India should be careful about that because one time it could bite them in the butt..
