Its been a while since I have been so keen on watching a guy play. I must find a way to see how this Suvagoto looks with the bat. Last person to have garnered so much interest from me was Tamim.

The two times I have seen him bat (Asiad) he looked very nervous and got out cheap. Perhaps, like many of our cricketers mental strength is not his strong attribute. Hope I'm hopelessly wrong about this. But he is having a phenomenal FC so far. Long may it continue!

Shaker Ahmed got 7 wkts in one inning. Fantastic feat!
Looking forward to a fight back from Sylheti and Chittagongi boys tomorrow. Khulna is done for in this match.

Or he just plain sucks and a poor domestic league helps cover up for his deficiencies and inflate his FC average. Never seen him, so dunno.

There is a post by Sohel bhai where he gives a good description. He is tall and all, don't know much about technique.

Sohel bhai from what I remember said that he's got good technique and is very good at taking singles. Watched him 1 time in a domestic T20 and he was pretty impressive. He was timing his shots very well and struck those shots with power. Other time I watched him was the asiads and there he was struggling a bit. I think it was due to bad form though. We'll get a clearer idea when he plays on testing tracks against the South Africans. Like all our cricketers though we should be patient with him and not get too excited when he scores big and not beat him down if he performs poorly.

Shuvagoto is averaging 61.26 over 17 FC innings. Obviously, the lad has some talent. Even Shahriar Nafees isn't anywhere near that sort of Ave.
The comment I made in the last post is just based on my first impression of him. It could be that he just had two bad games. Then, again, sometimes first impressions can be very deadly... .
Btw, anyone remebers Golam Rahman of Sylhet??

From DS:Rajshahi are on the verge of victory against Khulna while Dhaka and Barisal strengthened their grip over Chittagong and Sylhet respectively at the close of the third-day of the third round of National Cricket League.
Sylhet's pacer Shaker Ahmed was the highlight of the day as he cleaned up Barisal's batting by picking seven wickets.

I thought DS is quite good when it comes to domestic cricket.

^He actually scored 43 in the 1st innings and 47 in the 2nd. But nevertheless he should be doing better considering how his competitors are performing. Hope he doesn't turn out to be another Marshall Ayub.

43 in first innings and 47 in 2nd. Not single digit but way shot of our expectation.

I see but in the other match he scored 7, 6. Not living up to his potential.

I think Roman,Hom, Nasir and other wannabe tigers arent living up to their potential because they are under pressure from us BCites. .
Hom did score a century but we wanted him to continue and make it big score so that selectors gets worried but no he wont he gets out after adding one run.

Well, these players also need some kind of encouragement that they are under consideration and they can be brought up to the national team. With our national coach's approach of no changes at all,, I am pretty sure some of the players didn't actually feel the competition to exceed themselves or played casually. Also to keep in mind that, for the regional teams,,, its like a government job,, travel, eat, play, sleep, eat and get few bucks. The club cricket is different where you have the pressure from many quarters and you get highlighted or get extra income....
For us to see some good cricket for FC players, you have to improve the player's routine ( gym work, food, coaching etc.) , create that competitive atmosphere where the players would know that they are being considered for future national teams or franchises..

Asif ahmed 35 not out over night and fell for the same score...his average will likely drop under 50 now because of that. but he did score 2 hundreds from his first 5 innings. only 18 years old.

That's still really good. I mean if you think about it, he has more FC centuries then Aftab and has as many as Rokib, Zunaed and Imrul. So not bad at all. He should spend a few more years in the academy team and try to prove himself.

Ya he has been but he's been pretty poor so far. His scores so far in this year's edition,
19(25), DNB, 7(28), 8(10), 0(1)

Shubhagauto had a couple of bad matches in the Asiad as Bangladeshis would be soon blessed to find out InshAllah. Bad matches are an exception, not the rule for him.
I'm going to go ahead and call it: he is CONSISTENTLY better AT HIS VERY BEST than Motin, Alok, Tamim AND Shakib at their very best, and head and shoulders above the next level guys like Imrose, Fazle Rabbi, Aftab, Nafees, GoBoy, Dhiman, Bijauy, Rumman and Nasir in terms of pure ability.
You'll see for yourselves in the years to come. He is 25 already.

No offense SNR Bhai what happened to next superstar of Bangladesh (bigZ). I think we over hype all the potential talent. I should get rid of my favourite rock. I will still hope he does well but not at the expense of the team.
