if so then its a bad call coz Nadimuddin is there too...another promising wk batsman and i want both to play all the matches this yr

edit: too many well known seamers in their squad (imon/talha/robin/shahadat/aziz). they could have put some of them in other team...

plus borishal er vhat marche...uttam kumar was player of their team last season but now they have stolen him...now he will hardly get a game to play.

জাতীয় ক্রিকেট লীগ মাঠে গড়াতে আর মাত্র ১০ দিন বাকি থাকলেও দল গঠনে এখনও অগোছালো খুলনা বিভাগীয় ক্রিকেট দল। গতকাল শনিবার পর্যন্ত প্রাথমিকভাবে ক্রিকেটার বাছাই, বিভাগের ১০ জেলা থেকে ক'জন খেলোয়াড় বিভাগীয় দলে সুযোগ পাবেন, কবে থেকে অনুশীলন শুরু হবে সে বিষয়ে কোনো সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি। নিয়োগ দেওয়া হয়নি কোচ ও ম্যানেজার। সিদ্ধান্ত হয়নি কে দেবেন খুলনা বিভাগের ক্রিকেট দলের নেতৃত্ব। গত বছর খেলোয়াড়, কোচ ও কর্মকর্তাদের সমন্বয়হীনতার কারণে খুলনা ক্রিকেট দলকে অস্থিতীশীল অবস্থায় পড়তে হয়েছিল। তবে এবার আর কোনো ভুল বোঝাবুঝি নয়, সবাইকে নিয়ে চ্যাম্পিয়ন দলই গড়বে খুলনা। লীগ শুরুর আগে এমন আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন কোচ এ এস এম মঈনুদ্দিন রোম।
বিসিবির একাধিক সূত্রে জানা গেছে, ২৬ সেপ্টেম্বর জাতীয় ক্রিকেট লীগ উদ্বোধনের দিনক্ষণ নির্ধারণ করে খেলার নিয়মাবলি ও সময়সূচি ঘোষণা করা হলেও অভ্যন্তরীণ জটিলতার কারণে তা পিছিয়ে যায়। শেষ পর্যন্ত সব বিভাগীয় ক্রীড়া সংস্থার কর্মকর্তাদের নিয়ে দুই দফা বৈঠক করে প্রথমে ৩ অক্টোবর এবং পরে ২৯ সেপ্টেম্বর খেলা শুরুর চূড়ান্ত দিন ঘোষণা করে ক্রিকেট বোর্ড।
খেলোয়াড় বাছাই থেকে শুরু করে কোচ, ম্যানেজার এবং অধিনায়ক নিয়োগ ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের নিজস্ব ব্যবস্থাপনায় করলেও এ বছর এসব দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে নিজ নিজ বিভাগীয় ক্রীড়া সংস্থার ওপর। দায়িত্ব পেয়ে প্রায় সব বিভাগীয় ক্রীড়া সংস্থা দল গঠনের কাজ শুরু করলেও এখনও অগোছালো অবস্থায় রয়েছে খুলনা বিভাগীয় ক্রীড়া সংস্থা।
এদিকে সময়ক্ষেপণের কারণে খুলনা বিভাগীয় ক্রিকেট দল এবার কেমন হবে তা নিয়েও সাবেক ক্রিকেটাররা প্রশ্ন তুলেছেন। তারা জানান, ২০০৮ সালে জাতীয় ক্রিকেটে খুলনা বিভাগ দল চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছিল। ২০০৯ সালে দলের ভেতর শুরু হয় মনস্তাত্তি্বক দ্বন্দ্ব। এ দ্বন্দ্বের কারণে গোটা টিমে বিশৃঙ্খলা দেখা দেয়। খেলোয়াড়, কোচ ও কর্মকর্তারা বিতর্কে জড়িয়ে পড়েন। এছাড়া জাতীয় ক্যাম্প থাকায় খুলনা বিভাগীয় দল মাশরাফি, সাকিব, ইমরুল কায়েস, রাজ্জাক এবং রুবেলকে পাচ্ছে না। সব কিছু মিলে একটা অস্থিতিশীল অবস্থা বিরাজ করছে খুলনা বিভাগীয় ক্রিকেট দলে।
তবে এসব কিছু আমলে আনতে চান না খুলনা বিভাগীয় ক্রিকেট দলের সম্ভাব্য কোচ এ এস এম মঈনুদ্দিন রোম। তিনি জানান, গত বছর যেসব ঘটনা ঘটেছিল তার জন্য ব্যক্তিগতভাবে কোচ হিসেবে তিনি অনুতপ্ত। সবার মধ্যে ভুল বোঝাবুঝি কাজ করেছিল। এবার আর এ সমস্যায় পড়তে হবে না বলে তিনি আশাবাদী। এক্ষেত্রে সিনিয়র খেলোয়ড়দের আরও সচেতন হতে হবে বলে তিনি জানান। রোম জানান, মাশরাফি, সাকিব, ইমরুল কায়েস, রাজ্জাক এবং রুবেলকে না পেলেও সৈয়দ রাসেল, তুষার ইমরান, ডলার মাহমুদ, মিঠুনসহ অন্য যারা আছেন তাদের নিয়ে তিনি আশাবাদী।
এদিকে নিজেদের অগোছালো ভাবতে নারাজ খুলনা বিভাগীয় ক্রীড়া সংস্থার সাধারণ সম্পাদক এবং বিসিবির পরিচালক সৈয়দ জাহিদুল ইসলাম। তিনি জানান, বিসিবি থেকে মৌখিকভাবে তাকে দল গঠনের জন্য বলা হলেও এখনও পর্যন্ত কোনো কাগজপত্র হাতে পাননি। শনিবার রাতে খুলনা বিভাগের দল গঠনের জন্য সভা হওয়ার কথা রয়েছে। ওই সভায় প্রাথমিকভাবে দল গঠন, কোচ, ম্যানেজার এবং অধিনায়কের ব্যাপারে সিদ্ধান্ত হওয়ার কথা। তিনি বলেন, ক্যাম্পের মাধ্যমে খেলোয়াড় বাছাই করা হবে। শেখ আবু নাসের বিভাগীয় স্টেডিয়ামে অনুশীলন চলবে। আর মাত্র ১০ দিন বাকি থাকলেও এ নিয়ে তেমন কোনো সমস্যা হবে না বলে তিনি দাবি করেন।

Good idea. Only problem is, in WCCC forum they were only predicting 1st innings total score,top run scorer and top wicket taker for Worcestershire only. We can modified their idea so that we can predict for all six NCL team. But if we make it to complicated than some people wont join. And instead of going for the whole season we should only do it for phase 1 of NCL only. If it goes well and people like it than we can try for DPL also.

For Example for round 1. Predict for first innings only for each game. You will pick Top scorer and top wicket taker from both team. You will also pick reserve batsmen/bowler just incase in last second before the game starts your main player is rested/injured having a reserve gives you another chance. please see example below reserve player in bracket.. You only score for your main selection.

It's a shame they get so little games.

They could've done 1st phase home and away so that everyone plays 10 times.

2nd phase round robin at neutral venues.

final contested between teams with most points at the end of both phases. Final to be held in dhaka.

That means everyone will play at least 10 times, 2 teams play 13 times and 2 teams play 14 times.

The downside is that 2 teams will play each other 4 times in a season but that's what you get with such little teams. I think in future they can create more teams and have a home and away format like county cricket.

Lastly they have to play the current format at home, it's ridiculous to play these matches on neutral grounds.

NCL deferred by five days; now starts October 4

UNB, Dhaka

The 12th National Cricket League (longer version) will start on October 4 instead of September 29 as scheduled earlier.

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) tournament committee in an e-mail message today (Saturday) said persistent rain and inclement weather across the country have rendered the league venues unfit for holding the matches.

The tournament committee will announce the revised itinerary of the league soon.

It was bound to happen like every yr..
