I went to Dhanmondi Stadium to see the match.

when Bd was batting i saw that Naeem was quite attacking at first while Nafis was slow and defensive.

Nayeem hits some fours with some beautiful cover drives and square cuts.

All the Nepal players are very much short in hieght.

Overall the performance was quite satisfactory

Boy..nafis Iqbal is on fire ! he mentioned in an article after the century last game , his disdain for the Nepalese. They beat us last time under his captaincy. Whatever the reasons, he is on fire. I am hearing good things about rajib ( the pacer ) from my cousins in Dhaka. We need good young pacers for future.

We need to groom these young generation of pacers very carefully! We had lots of injuries with young pacers. I hope BCCB will look into it

Default Nafis Torments Nepal

Opener Nafees Iqbal continued to toy with Nepal's bowlers when the Bangladesh under-19 cricket team coasted to an eight-wicket win in their second practice match at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium yesterday.

The former under-19 captain, who slammed 101 against the visitors on Tuesday, scored 80 off 95 balls as the home side, chasing a modest Nepal total of 182 in 50 overs, reached 186-2 in 37.4 overs.

Together with opening partner Naeem Islam, Nafees shared an 85-run stand and then added another 50 with one-down Nazimuddin before being dismissed.

The young Chittagong right-hander smote eight boundaries.

Nafees apart, Nazim was undefeated on 36 off 57 balls with three fours while Naeem made 35 off 77 balls with four boundaries.

Electing to bat, Nepal were shot out for 182 in 49.2 overs with Sharad hammering highest 89-ball 56 with seven boundaries followed by Shakti who added 38 off 79 balls hitting just one boundary.

Kanishka (37) and Manoj (12) were the other notable run getters.

For Bangladesh medium-pacer Rubaiyat Haq and left-arm spinner Enamul Haque bagged two wickets each.

Nepal, who arrived in Bangladesh on December 31 to prepare for the forthcoming ICC Under-19 World Cup, will play their last match against Bangladesh at the Fatullah Cricket Stadium tomorrow.

Well, Nafis failed badly the last time around against Nepal. I guess this is payback. I hope the boy is learning to handle attention and to lead his team.

It is all good, other than, the players who beat Nafees are older than 19 now, but sadly, Nafees is stuck at 19.

It is indeed interesting. Nafis lead the 2001 & 2002 under 19 team. Born on 31st January, 1985, he just turned 19 this year. This should be his last year in U19. But in 2001, at age 16, he was not in U-17 team. How does ICC check these things anyways?

Nafes likes to mouth off and show disdain for the opposition every time he scores a century in a practise match. He did it against ENgland last fall. Nothing wrong with mouthing off for someone "so young", but he needs to back it up when he is playing the real games.

Raana bhai .. sounds like you have never been in Nepal or never seen a Nepali. They are as short (maybe shorter) then average Bangalis. So, this under 19 guys are just short, not younger.

Default Rafiq bhai

I never had the pleasure of playing alongside or against Nafees. However Samir(creep) has so he will be able to give us a more accurate approximation of Nafees's age. He is quite a bit younger than Samir, who is around 25, but I definitely doubt he is 6 years younger. Yeah, I would think he is about 21-22.
