BURNING QUESTION : who will be the MATCH THREAD OPENER(s) during 2011 Cricket WC ???

Match threads are very important part of our life in the BC Forum. most of the users always wants to take the credit of a match thread, we see lots of competetion in this regard. besides the opener of a Winning Match Thread gets the praise of all the users while the openers of loosing match thread openers always gets a bash.

during the lifetime of BC we have gone through lots of matches, match threads, wins and losses. so during this time we have had our own choices about who are our lucky match thread openers and who are our unlucky match thread openers. we all have our choices and openers that who should open and who should not ope match threads in general or specific cases.

so now very soon the BIG WC is coming and BD have at least 6 matchs, so there will be at least 6 match threads. now who should open the threads.

plz put up the names who you think should open match threads and why you think he should open match threads in general or for specific games.

REMEMBER THAT " match thread openers dont influence the result(win/loss) of the match, actually RESULT OF THE MATCH makes a match thread opener lucky or unlucky"

i am new here... seems like this match thread opening thing is serious business to BC members!
i witnessed one member promising not to open any more match thread...and then doing a Md Yousuf on that declaration... and then later apologizing to the member who was supposed to open...and then promising that...this was his final goodbye to opening threads.... onek drama ai bishoi ta nia... me likes!

i still dnt understand all the fusses about opening a match thread ! Its just another thread opened by anyone where everyone will discuss about that match. As offstump bro himself mentioned about no luck or no jadutona is attached to it, i actually dnt bother about it.

However, If winning match thread opener gets special BONUS post counts/ or special reputation then it would justify this fusses of opening Match thread !

But there should be a RULE that you cannot open a match thread before 48 hrs before the game. coz some ppl open MT 3/4 days ago (once i did and got jhari from alot of ppl so then realized they were right)


This rule should be for all the MT, not only WC

I think its time to have a proper guidelines for Match Thread ! For example, # of post count before allowing him/her to open, required information about the match on MT (date, time, team, weather etc) ........... etc etc !

Hope you don't have just a cut-off of minimum posts. There are some like me who don't post often and as a result have a lot less posts than someone who may have joined a month ago but kept posting.

I say:
1. Noone opens more than one thread
2. Be a member by end of this year
3. Have 500 posts
4. Never have been banned
5. Be able to show some kind of meaning to that thread
6. Do it first if there are multiple candidates.

I was going to say moderators choose after considering criteria such as those above, but then I do not know if everyone can live with that.

I would put my hand up for nomination if there is any, for Bangladesh vs West Indies. Beating the Windies to me would signify the fall the final pillar of an empire and the rise of another. It would also be hopefully off the back of the Ireland win and will be followed by a win against England.

Seniority should be considered. And seriously there should not be any commotion about opening a match thread. Its not like Zunaid vai is sending the thread opener any Gifts or something (or am I just missing it? hmmmmm)

i never said because of me BD won. its a coincidental 7-0 win and 7 is such a charming lucky word.i feel like for myself to be associated with those thread and get opportunity to open those thread.

never won a lottery in my life time but this 7-0 gave me pleasure like winning lottery.i post it all for fun but didnt know some people will find it ........ its difficult to read people some times.i thought people will say, congrats and game over, but lol.

On a serious note, I think opening a match thread is quite important for some of us and as Nahaz bhai pointed out, once someone meets the criteria there can be a choice given to the eligible members to pick which game they want to open. And if there are more than one eager member for the game, let's have a lottery.
