Mushy equally deserved to be MOM with Rubel. His effort with Naeem was not any less important in this win.

i reckon he's played more vital knocks since being captain and is also a bit more consistent. leading from the front and sticking to it, it's a good message to send his team mates.

He was without a doubt our 2nd best performer yesterday behind Rubel.

How Mushfiq helped Naeem get through a rough patch in the first ODI:

Naeem the team-man Islam

Mushy has never been a natural wicket keeper. He continues to grab at the ball, especially when keeping to spinners. Plus his lack of stature does have REAL impact on his reach. But next to James Brown, Mighty Atom _is_ the hardest working man in show-business and he is definitely a reliable keeper. Any comparison to the Akmal brotherhood is insulting. The fact that we have one of the least penetrative bowling attacks around is probably why his few drops/mistakes are so magnified. When a Prior drops one, Broad, Anderson, Swanny just find more edges.

Longer term, given how his batting has come along, I see him giving up keeping. If either Anam, Dhiman or TNG comes through as reliable batter, Mushy can become our ODI and Test #3. And yes ATMR, I'm coming around to your views on this

My praise for Mushy the player should not be conflated with my opinions of him as a skipper in Tests. As a Test skipper he is quite below par.

I just don't get why everytime the ball misses the edge he does the oohs and aaahs. gets really irritating. Get on with it son.

he does that to put pressure on the batter. even if it was not close the batter thinks it was close... its a mind game and he does that superbly...

I won't be bothered to say that Mushy is currently one of the best wicket keeper in world cricket & one of the best captain in ODIs.

that catch he took to give Mash his 2nd wicket was simply awesome.
