100 dismissals for an occassional keeper is no mean feat! Congratulations!

Since Sanga retired, Mushfiq currently is at the top average wise in away matches.
Lets look at it slightly more meaningful way

Low latitiude countries (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, West Indies, UAE) - spin friendly wickets
High latitiude countries (Australia, England, New Zealand, South Africa, ZIM) - pace friendly wickets

So from Jan 1, 2013 we would have the following:

LLC batsmen in HLC countries:

Shakib - 4 innings, avg 71.00
Sangakkara - 8 innings, avg 69.62
DM Bravo - 9 innings, avg 56.55
Mushfiqur - 6 innings, avg 53.00
S Hope - 9 innings, avg 52.62
Kohli - 26 innings, avg 52.48
Jayawardene - 6 innings, avg 51.00
Rahane - 25 innings, avg 48.59
Azhar Ali - 24 innings, avg 42.68
Younis - 23 innings, avg 38.09
Matthews - 25 innings, avg 35.40
Chandimal - 25 innings, avg 33.35
Asad - 23 innings, avg 33.39
Pujara - 24 innings, avg 31.79
Mominul - 6 innings, avg 29.83
Kusal Mendis - 16 innings, avg 28.33
Imrul - 6 innings, avg 26.80
Mahmudullah - 8 innings, avg 26.25

Not a complete list but all the main batsmen.

HLC batsmen in LLC countries:

Williamson - 18 innings, avg 62.29
Smith - 30 innings, avg 54.92
Root - 25 innings, avg 53.65
Cook - 25 innings, avg 49.00
De Villiers - 14 innings, avg 46.57
Watling - 20 innings, 36.93
Amla - 14 innings, avg 35.07
Warner - 34 innings, avg 33.50
R Taylor - 20 innings, avg 33.11
Moeen - 22 innings, avg 28.31

Conclusion:

This is one of the most important factors in who is a good batsmen and who is not.

Williamson, Smith, Root, and Kohli all feature highly and in that order, with KW being quite superior to the other 3, due to his superior technique. This is why out of the current players, I rate Williamson as the most complete batsmen.

My personal thought is Kohli has benefitted more from flat pitches than the other 3. I may stand to be corrected.

Shakib and Mushy rank very favorably, but have played very few innings. Still an average is an average.

Mominul is our 3rd best batsman making any notion of dropping him from the side nonsensical.

Cook is a surprisingly high, Amla surprisingly low.

Your list did not capture Tamim - 6 Innings, avg 22.16 http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...s;type=batting

I guess there still is a case for Imrul!

Tamim's numbers are anomalies as he has two hundreds from 2010 in England. 6 innings isnt a large enough sample to definitively rule anyone out.

You can rule people in with a small sample since a few low scores will drastically lower the average.

Imrul can play, but only if he opens. If he is competing with middle order positions than Mushy, Shakib, Mominul, and Mosaddek warrant places ahead of him for multiple reasons.

Coach Salahuddin asked to keep Mushfiq pressure free. Perhaps we should ban Roey for a month or so ? :P

What pressure has he on him? Only one guy has been consistently on his case, me. Most give him a free pass, both inside and outside this forum.

I agree with this, if anything the pressure he has on him is created from his own actions but I really don’t see a lot of pressure on him, almost everyone says he deserves a place purely on batting so he has a free pass just on that.
