IF Mashrafee is fit, should he be re-called?
If mortaza is fully fit, and if its allowed by the ICC regulations, I think Mortaza should be brought back. He may not be our best fast bowler, but he is our most reliable one, the guy LEAST likely to have a bad day behind the popping crease.
He might struggle against India, and therefore sitting him out there might be a good move, even if he's "match fit". He could however play against Ireland as we should win that match even with Mash finding his groove.
I firmly believe that Rubel and Shafiul are the future, but in such an important tourney, one of them is bound to have a bad spell at least every third outing.

If he is 100% and can bowl the way he did against India 2007 WC, then HELL YEAH. Other than that, I wouldnt risk it. Mash was having trouble controlling his length against New Zealand.

Mash hasnt been 100% for a long time, like I said before His fitness is directly proportional to his speed
so
120-125K =70%
125-130K = 80%
130-135K = 90%
135-140K = 95%
140-145K = 100%

He can be drafted back in only in the case of an injury to another pacer. If, for example, Riyad or Naeem get injured, I would bring in another batsman/allrounder (Shabbir/Jahirul), but not Mashrafee. If luck favours and he manages to stay fit, he can easily have another WC, if not two, before his career is up. We'd be legitimate contenders by then as well.

I totally agree with the Mahir Bhai.
The 15 men are already decided. We cant re-instate him unless somebody gets injured. We Should Not hope for anybody to become injured. Mashrafee at this moment should be thought as the same as kapali or jaharul. Not in the limelight for the moment. If 1 of pacers does get injured, then YES Mashrafe will come. But before that, we should not really be discussing this. What is done is done.

can i POST a POLL on "who should you like to see injured so that MASH can be re-instated into the Team when Fit ???"
i seems like lot of BC members are hoping somebody to get injured so that their fav mash can get in.

If you think in that way, than It's rather better if one of the three fast bowlers gets injured and make the way for Mashrafe (only if 100% fit ofcourse) than leaking 70 odd runs in his 9 overs which is more than likely to happen. Mash would at least give us a good start with the new ball.

Lots of Newspapers are trying to highlight Rubels injury so that people can hope for mashrafees inclusion. This is wrong journalism. I am feeling sorry for Rubel.

I prefer Rubel over Mashrafe, as Rubel has come a long way, after getting thrashed by Murali, he learned a valuable lesson and learned to reverse the ball also has good yorkers at the depth, losing Rubel for Mashrafee will be a huge blow. Rubel with experience and better guidance will surpass Mashrafee.
If 100% healthy he should not play, he will be bowling at 120-125 kph and won't trouble any teams at all, last world cup he was fast but now he will be slower than Paul Colling wood.

We should move on and leave behind the Mash issue for now. Let the selected 15 settle down and gasp...and win the cup

i do not like what mashrafee is doing now. he is doing more harm to himself and to the team's unity - we need to stand behind the team we have.

I would love to see Mash in the 15 but not at the expense of another fit player. It would have been better if he had the operation done. This is just causing a needless drama...

this caught my eyes also. But, if you see this positively, then i would say, its good for Rubel. Rubel will be trying hard to get himself in perfect shape before WC starts just like Mash is trying hard and soul. Healthy Competition is what all want.

If this question was asked before the 15 was announced i would say "Yes". But not now, we have declared 15 men who we rely on, we have showed faith in 15 and we must trust them for a good result.
God forbid, if someone gets injured, only then can we discuss the inclusion of Mashrafe. As of now, regardless of how harsh it sounds, Mashrafe should not be part of our world cup plans.

but the reason he was not included to begin with is because he was not fit at the time of the deadline. if he was fit, he would have been included at the expense of nazmul. if, and this is the operative word here, the ICC allows last minute changes, then i see no reason why nazmul shouldn't be dropped for a fully fit (another operative word) Mashrafee.
it has nothing to do with hoping for tamim to get injured so Mashrafee can take his spot. that is nonsense.
its simply about selecting your best 15 players. there is no doubt that Mashrafee, if fit, is a better option than all the pacers who have been selected.
it has nothing to do with fairness or unfairness for the player dropped. that player wouldn't have been in the squad to be begin with if Mash was fit. its sad, yes, but it means that everyone has to work harder to get better.
all this is a moot point if the ICC does not allow any changes after a certain date.

Fitness is not the issue. It's his sissy, STUBBORN, I before the Team, mentality is. Sorry. If it was before the squad selection I'd have wanted him. But right after his drama to the media he lost all my support.

How's rubel's fitness. He wasn't bowling with full run-up until few days ago. If he and mash are in same condition I would prefer mash.
