Default MATCH THREAD: ICC Cricket WC, 5th Match, Group B: England v Netherlands, Nagpur, Feb 22, 2011

Quote:
The last time England made a decent fist of a World Cup campaign was 19 years ago. 19 years. Since then England fans have been treated to a festival of farces, none more so than the 1996 subcontinental shower. This time, Andrew Strauss promises, is different. They face a Netherlands side who promise to be scrapping and competitive, and after Kenya and Canada were hammered on Sunday, the Associates are in dire need of a good showing.

^ No he plays for Aus now, he played in bunch of their T20s and ODIs, since IPL 2 or 2008. Sad, because he could've been playing his last WC right now.

I am going to bed. It's almost 1 AM, can't continue writing my paper, while Ravi bok-boks. Good start from Neth, but they look very Aftaby, no patience at all, major problem for assos. teams.

NED is playing very good cricket... I am scared now. Can England or even us win against them? They got to be the weakest link of our group. It certainly doesn't feel that way at the mo.

Iftekhar bhai, NED is more dangerous than any of the associates. Ryan Ten Doeschate, Tom Cooper, Alexei Kervezee - 3 jon'i fatafati batsmen. Ten Doeschate is total class!!

I'm not surprised with the way Netherlands are batting. Their batting is pretty strong, especially with Ryan ten Doeschate in the lineup. He is one of the top limited overs cricketers in the world in my opinion (particularly in T20's). But their bowling is very weak. So I won't be too worried even if they make 250.

Wow, how did KP miss that one? ten Doeschate given a life on 47 -- this could be costly.

Yeah that's the best batting average in history among batsmen with at least 20 innings.

I was expecting a strong batting performance from The Dutch and they are living up to it. We will have to bring our A game to beat any of these teams!
