That's right, I am going with 3 pacers. Why not? Why bench a good bowler like Nazmul on the bench for bowler like Naeem/Shuvo/Riyad? Just because spin is our attack style, doesn't mean we have to play crap spinners.
Nazmul will end up with 3/30 and Naeem will be lucky to pick up a wicket for 40. I am willing to give up 15 odd runs from Naeem's bat for Nazmul's bowling.

Hmm interesting selections. From what I gather it seems that WI have a lot of left handed batsmen, taking this into account and also taking elements of the two team selections above and adding a couple of left-field selections myself, I have come up with the following:-
Tamim Iqbal
Imrul Kayes
Raqibul Hasan
Mushfiqur Rahim
Shakib Al Hasan
Mahmudullah Riyad
Mohammad Ashraful
Naeem Islam
Shafiul Islam
Rubel Hossain
Nazmul Hossain
The above team has 7 bowling options: 3 pacers, 1 World Class SLA, 3 part-time right arm spinners. But controversially Abdur Razzak has been dropped. This is because the WI have a lot of Left handed batsmen, so I feel the off spinners will be more useful, also Shakib is there as the SLA. There are also 3 pacers who all have their own unique attributes to provide variety in the bowling options. I believe with all these bowling options we will make it very difficult for the WI batsmen to accumulate runs and therefore will restrict them to a lowish total.
On the batting side of things, in theory the batting line-up goes down to number 8, so it is a relatively long line-up, although the quality of the batsmen can be disputed. The controversial decision here is to drop Junaid and promote Raqibul in his place. Junaid has been inconsistent so far whilst Raqibul has chipped in with runs every time he has had a chance to bat. Raqibul whilst not a natural number 3 has the right temperament to bat there. Also the fact that Raqibul is one of Bangladesh's best fielders goes in his favour. But to be honest either one of these or Shahriar Nafees could be chosen for the number 3 positions and the dynamics of my lineup would not differ too much.
I know this lineup would never be chosen in a million years, but it is interesting don't you think?

ASH was lucky enough to get a couple of wickets against IRE bcuz they simply didn't use their feet at all. I'm sure WI batsmen are gonna tackle him with ease, and I see him leaking at least 50 odd runs in his 8/9 overs.
Riad would be a much better option against WI, he definitely is a far better bowler than ASH, and I'm sure his bat won't be as shy as ASH's one is to score runs. And taking the fact into consideration that the WI batsmen struggled big time against SA spinners, I really believe we should have either Riad or Shuvo instead of ASH in the XI. And since WI top and middle order are packed with lefties, Riad should make it to the XI over Shuvo.
But I'm pretty sure the team management is not gonna break the winning combination.

I don't want to see Ash again in the team. If he is in the team for bowling, Riyad is a far better bowler than him and far far better batsman than him too.

I want two changes is this match,
1) SN in place of Zunaid (After that stupid lazy run out against IRE, He doesnt deserve a place like a fighting squade of Bangladesh)
2) Mahmudullah Riyad in for Ashraful (If we go for a bowler, we should go for a speacialist rather then a aucational and as Riyad is a off spinner, can give much pain to WI Lefty's then ashraful's aucational off spin)

agree! WI having 4 lefthanded batters in top 5. And Riyad's record against WI and left hander is very impressive. I would like to see him opening bowling against them and for him we can afford any players to be dropped against WI except Tamim and Shakib. If team management leave him out of playing 11 then for me they will commit huge blunder.

Will we ever be able to thrash the associate sides like the others while batting?

We just need to look at 1 game at a time. We know we can beat WI, just play lot of spinner, which we have and play in same pitch as last game.

I dont mind playing Ash at #7. Riyad is not #7 material but Ash is.
I would give Junaid one more game but if he fails then I would like to see SN getting in

I think BD will face some real problem facing Roach. That guy is reminding me WI fast bowlers of 80's. He hurt ponting in his elbow and Tamim also mentioned about him.

West Indies got all the preparation with the bat and ball before Bangladesh match. While Bangladesh got out of jail ticket, lesson to learn from mistakes and yes belief and confidence from winning a close content.

We are still to get 100% of the usual lethality from our two leading wicket takers: RajjaK and Shakib. If they are not coming out with something special against WI, we have hard luck against them. I think the opposition teams are analysing their bowling really good and their players are reading them well while batting....although we had only two different types of games to say that. This could by why off-spin (or all-sorts-of-spin) of Ashraful might be effective as a variation, though I dont want to see him in the 1st 11.

Out of the top 10 wicket-takers in the WC so far, 9 are pacers.

There will be no change in the team per Siddons. The same team will play and that makes sense. Ashraful will play as he thought that he did in fact bring the break-through and he wants to give him another chance at 7 where he is the best fit.
I dont know why is it that some of the fans are still fearing that we will go back into the days of losing. On one hand we say we have improved and our players are much better now and then we turn back and say,,'well, I don't know, WI has scored so many runs against Netherlands, so we may lose...." Since when did our bowlers become so bad that West Indies can score that many runs and when did our batters become associate level that we cannot match them? No reason to get cocky but I don't think we cannot beat West Indies or England or South Africa. Its no cake walk but in our conditions and with our crowd support and the team being in-form,,, we can beat any non-subcontient teams with our team talent. India, Pakistan and Sri Lankans are difficult customers are they know how the wicket works, they play in capacity crowd and they can read the psyche of the game better in these conditions. But the 3 teams we are facing in coming weeks are not. They are much stronger teams. However, if we do play "RESPONSIBLE" cricket, we can and will beat them..
