Mr. S Mongia should go bleep himself
http://www.espncricinfo.com/icc_cric...ry/503047.html
Condescending throughout. Comments such as, Shakib "tactically not one of the best going around", or "a group that can't be the best team to support: they give up chases once Tamim gets out, and they often bat first without plan or brains" or "don't be fooled by the 283 runs they scored, not for one ball did they look like they were competing".
Not for nothing Cricinfo gets the CricIndo tag. Mr. Mongia just made the S Rajesh hall of fame. Should I ever run into him, I shall assuredly tell him to get intimate with a broom handle!
-- Very much as myself.

Mongia normally writes good for Bangladesh. Probably they are getting uncomfortable by the rise of Bangladesh slowly. That's why the change in his tone.

Why are you blaming Mongia ? go and look at the match threads on this board, all of you say the same things Mongia has written

lets not forget we batted like a bunch of monkeys simply because we won the match in the end. After getting 50 on the board in no time we found creative ways of getting ourselves out.. Our batting in must win game against an associate side was horrible so I feel we deserve every bit of the criticism leveled at our batting. Our bowling saved our faces from a huge embarrassment and got us back on track for the QF. So I sincerely hope we won't get caught up in the celebration and actually try to sort out our batting problems before we play the big sides

forget about the icon/avatar its just an avatar, but did I say anything incorrect ? look at the match threads by all bangladesh posters , a majority ( not all) of you say and feel exactly what Mongia has said in cricinfo .

I was about to comment on Mongia just now. CricInfo has some fine writers and for example, I am a big fan of Andrew Miller. Then there are those second level writers who seem to think snide condescending remarks make good copy. When Mongia does write positively for Bangladesh it is an aberration. Do compare and contrast with Andrew Miller's bulletin.
Pardon Mongia, your saffron, white and green slip is showing.
Perhaps there is some truth to the CricInfo tag.
From the CricIndo front page. India? India? Perhaps there is a bias!? I liked Zaltzman's blog though.

mate , im not here to do an accounting course , you know exactly what im saying. the proof of what I am saying lies in this forum. go and have a look at the match threads , what do i need to prove.
I have realised through the course of being a member here , that a non bangladeshi can not be critical of the bangladesh cricket team.im probably only welcome here as long as i keep saying nice things, one remark which is close to the facts and 12 bangladeshis jump on my head
just to keep you happy, I agree, Mongia is a bleep , BCCI is destroying Bangladesh cricket, Sehwag is a mad fool, and Bangladesh is the worlds best team
happy now ?

btw I'm agree with rosgullah. May be he sounds weird but well said by him. Non bangladeshi comments, posts, articles, threads etc specially from indian dont get any attention here. Actually we south asians dont appreciate even true comments come from neighbor countries.

@Parvez: this is not true. Now that Rosgulla is gone, I'll point out why I believe Mongia is totally off.
1) Shakib not being tactically savvy: true he's inexperienced but those of us who've seen him against Windies, against NZ & Zim have no doubts that he has tremendous instincts and in general gets his field placings spot on. Mongia decided since Utpol bashed the toss decision, it was fair game to call Shakib as "dumb".
2) BD gives up the chase when TIK gets out: We have won many games chasing when TIK has not fired. The entire NZ series was w/o TIK.
3) BD didn't compete at all against India. Right after we took Tendu's wicket and when the openers were going great gun, BD was definitely competing. In fielding the team was definitely competing.
4) BD was taking a victory lap: Even though Shakib explained it was more of a "thank you fans", he keeps on calling it a victory lap.
5) BD is a lousy team to support: Even a neutral like Andrew M roots for us. We are an evolving team and so bad days at the office will continue to happen. I know way too many neutrals who like BD for that statement to hold true. And it's not like Team India was setting the world on fire in it's first 20-30 years; yet they have fanatical fans too.
so on and so forth.

I too was surprised by the article. On the balance I would say Cricinfo, including all the Indian writers, have generally written pretty positive articles about us, including Monga. The amount of venom in that article--and the general snideness--was unusual. Especially since I don't think Bangladesh were deserving of it in that instance. Anyway, let them keep writing. If we keep going forward their pettiness will become more apparent to the rest of the world.
