Agree it’s not always about tons being a 6/7 bat, it’s about how significant your innings is to the team, riyad generally scores when it doesn’t matter so much.

^^Riyad scores when it significantly matters for survival of his own career. His last century is actually an example how useless runs he scores often can be from the team's context. He could have declared after scoring 60-70 runs, but took his sweet time for his own personal glory.

Mahmudullah scored a century today and played a very important 30+ knock in the second innings of first test.

As Ashfaq pointed out, Mahmudullah's LOI credentials are better than his test credentials, and his problem in test is his vulnerability to getting out while in single digit. He needs to work on how to overcome his early jitters.

He is a determined guy, and he is still a better player in tests than Imrul and Soumya. He is also very adept at marshalling our lower order.

Congrats Mahmudullah!

Congrats Ryad on a useless century when the team was piling up on runs.
Should have declared long ago but this selfish guy had to get his century.
Now we might loose this match because of his typical slow test hundred.
Nothing but a career saving hundred.

Perhaps a useless post?

Except Liton, everyone scored with 50/60 strike rate, which is expected in a test match. Yet when Mahmudullah does it, his ton becomes useless. Thank God that even Mahmudullah has better understanding of the game than many BC pundits!

Hope he stays focused In future tests. He is actually one of the best players of swing in our team do having him in the line up helps. Too bad he has been mediocre all his career. Hopefully at his prime, he makes up for it

If mahmudullah continues this form - Bangladesh test batting looks formidable after a long time.

Congrats.

^ No, that was just Century Edition. Since now a bit less rare, we have re-branded it to Career Saving Edition.

Anyway, come on the pod soon. About to go live in less than 30 mins with Furqan, Ringo and Rinat hopefully. I know you said December, right? It's December now.
