Good to see him contributing with bat and ball when it matters.

Riyad is hitting the ball as good and as clean as ever in his entire career. He looks to be positive right from the word go which was something missing early in his career. Today he came in and smashed the ball square cut to the boundary for four right off the bat. The pressure release shot to midwicket was great as well. Serious competition at lower middle order helped to raise his game to an entire new level. And he shouldn't move up the order unless it is Test Match because at the moment he's one of our best finishers.

I hope watching Riyad (as well as Mushy and Nasir) across this series will inspire Shakib to improve his T20I batting record.

Ryad er pola ekta hp laptop paya gelo, hay re kopal, shonar chamoch mukhe niya keno jonmailam na?
Jauggiya,on a serious note I think Ryad was under the shadow of Sakib, we often said that Ryad is not properly utilized, neither as a bowler nor as a batsman(to some extent)
Now that Sak isnt there he is getting more opportunities and showing his true color.

I saw this comment made by you in another thread too. I'm sure it's just your thought. I think some thoughts are better kept to ourselves, which can only create some negative results if spread around.
Logically there should be no reason for them to be scared of Shakib or Shakib to be responsible for their poor performance. I'm sure Shakib spreads enough positivity through his presence in the team, that should rather help the others to perform better. Please stop repeating such baseless thoughts.
I understand you are an anti Ash and anti Mahmudullah guy... But these kind of rumor will harm Shakib the most. Even KK will not such baseless things....You are exceeding KK's height ...

Firstly I think Ash has been a worse performer than people notice. His strike rate is still down and he gets out as soon as he gets going.
Back to this point though I think that the idea of Shakib not being there helping Mahmudullah has some merit, although possibly not to do with pressure. In fact I think the opposite is true. Shakib's absence leaves a leadership void both on the field and in the batting line up. Mahmudullah has stepped into that void and lifted his game. I believe the extra responsibility is helping him.
I think the solution to this problem is to have players with more defined roles in the team. Mahmudullah and Nasir should know that once the 13th over of a T20 hits (or the 30th of an ODI) that that is there time because they are the experts. If they end up batting with Shakib in this time they should be looking to take over the innings and take the pressure off Shakib.
This added responsibility has improved their games so they shouldn't lose that when Shakib returns.

Come to think of it, you're absolutely right. His facial expression IS tough to read. It's not stoic and inexpressive, but there's definitely something odd there. It's not benign but not stupid either

Maybe Riyad's not-quite-bovine expression hides a deeply-embedded ennui; an almost suicidal diffidence to his environs and circumstances. Maybe under that large, passive exterior there is a quivering, sensitive soul who peers into his son's cradle every day and thinks about how ultimately we're alone in this world...

That's a great idea. Sometimes he has that "comfortably numb" look meaning a little Banana Express with that special half-smile I assume you also know well. An ambiguous expression typically accompanying thoughts that appear as groundbreaking insight into life, the universe and everything until you irretrievably lose that train of thought. Then you draw a blank and rather than trying to find its trail in the cosmological haystack of random short term memories without getting sidetracked, spend time waiting for the stream to reappear out of the blankness itself. Riyad looks like he's waiting even without losing any train of thought in the first place. Truly mysterious.
