He has the skills but lacks guts. He did score quickly and hit sixes in the practice games which proves his ability. Actually his performance in the absence of shakib gave me hope that he may have finally turned a corner. End result after all that is still zero n this tourament. The problem with him is his sissy mentality that forces him to self destruct when the spot light is on him in a real high stakes game

Or maybe its time we realize none of our players have T20 skills. All the bowlers can aquire them, but as of now none do, Shakib and Razzak come closest. But all the pacers are equally clueless.
Of the batsman I guess only Shakib knows how to play T20 and he's only got this one innings. Ash used to know how. Tamim has ability but hasn't performed yet. Nasir has ability too.
When at least 7 out of 11 players are not at all suited for the format you will suck and suck terribly.

He needs to go as VC so that his spot is not automatic because the fact is his performance has just not been good enough for such an experienced player. So either he has to perform consistently or he has to go. Bring in Mominul and slowly start to work him in to the team since he's been our best batsman in the A team and could be a big match player.

Riyad never takes responsibility as a player in the middle. I am fed up with him.

High time Riyad's place be under serious scrutiny.
How does a player with a SR less than 90 and an average less than 10 make it to the starting XI is beyond me.

So our VC getting free tickets to the Final XI yet again?
In his last 11 Test innings, his AVG is only 16.8 with HS of 38 with 2 ducks and 20+ twice(including his HS)
Hope the number looks better when i check his stats again

He is a very lucky man to play this Test. His performance never support him to include even in 15 men squad.

This series will probably determine his worth, if he fails he will probably be axed.

You can never drop him .... After hitting 3 goallas, then in the 2nd innings of 2nd test on 3rd day, he will hit a near fifty and we will have a innings defeat and he will survive for the next series...and we will again go with one bowler less....
We fail to understand, that a wicket taking bowler is worth 2 bits and pieces BD batsman....he contributes more by keeping the opponents score low as such boosting the confidence of our batsman. We keep doing the same thing again and again and have the same results...at least try once other way....guys!!

He scored alright, but that was not the way to bat in a test match... Was shaky, bits & pcs type batsman and lucky to survive today...Nasir on the other side was much more composed. Hope he feels confident with that score in the bag and comes back with some composure tomorrow...

Yes he did not bat like a test Batsman thats for sure. He played lot of risky rush shots.
But Nasir also ride on luck. He was dropped in the slip.
Any way Basically most of our Batsman have poor technique and temperament in test cricket. Even Shakib never looked he is playing test cricket.

On 42* right now. He needs to make it count. No half century in the last 8 innings. He's already gotten his eye in. He needs to aim big. Best of luck to our VC

Riyad is a sensible cricketer with a positive mindset.....he will need some time to get back in form.
Playing him at number 7 (or 8) is a waste. If he wants to stay in the test team, he should strive to bat (and perform) in the top order.....NCL will be a good start.

6/7/8 are crucial positions in tests. if they can strengthen one end, u won't get late wickets at the end of days play. imagine we had someone of weaker caliber, if we lost 2 kwik wickets in the last few nervous overs, we might have been done for.

Good innings Riyad. keep it up. But don't forget to thank Saqlain Mustaque, he was giving you tips and thus you scored some runs finally

Okay-ish innings IMO - played lot of wide deliveries and got away with some close ones. However when he got hold of them, he timed it really well. He could do better.

A shaky innings....not convinced ...well Nasir gave one chance, but was calm through out. Mullah was never set, was getting a feelings that he could be out in almost every ball. Shakib was shaky initially but he did settle down and played steady until he was out.
