March 12 (Reuters) - Facts and figures relating to the Group B World Cup match between Bangladesh and Netherlands (0400 GMT) at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong on Monday.

Head-to-head record:

Netherlands lead 1-0

The two countries have never played in World Cups or in the sub-continent

* In the only match played between these two countries, Netherlands got the better of Bangladesh in Glasgow in July 2010. Bangladesh, led by one of the drivers of Friday's win against England, Imrul Kayes (52), set up a challenging 199 to win in a curtailed 30 overs. However, Netherlands managed to overhaul the target with seven balls to spare.

* Bangladesh (WLWLW) will look to avenge that defeat on Monday, which will also give them a chance to qualify for the quarter-finals if England lose to the West Indies on March 17.

* Netherlands (LLLLL) from Group B -- like Kenya in Group A -- will be playing for pride. They have had the toughest draw having played England, West Indies, South Africa and India in their first four league games.

* Tamim Iqbal (152 runs) leads the Bangladeshi run-scoring chart and Imrul Kayes (111 runs) and Shakib Al Hasan (111 runs) have also been among the runs, though they need to put in longer innings.

* For Netherlands, Ryan ten Doeschate (148 runs) has not scored enough after his century in the opening match against England. However, Tom Cooper (140 runs) has been getting starts in most of his innings

* In terms of bowling, Peter Seelar (with seven wickets) brought the match against India alive with the big scalps of Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and Yusuf Pathan. He has been well supported by ten Doeschate (six wickets)

* For Bangladesh, their spin attack has not quite had the impact they were expected to have in sub-continental conditions, with only Shakib Al Hasan (five wickets) having taken a few. Shafiul Islam (six wickets) has gamely led the new ball attack, and also finished off the game with the bat against England

Ned is the only chance to close the gap. By that I mean whatever it takes whether bat or ball first and take them by the horn.

sexual harassment: what the hell are you talking about? She is paying to get painted. No one pays for sexual harassment.

eve teasing: what the hell is that? Never heard this word before.

Chittagong game: what does that has to do with anything?

To me the picture shows a passion of a demography that is usually not that interested in cricket getting passionate about it. A sign of rising passion among Bangladeshis about cricket. What what you want of it, just don't do a thread jacking.

However, I do not want to see Junaid S gone. Yes he has not scored much, but the last two times he has gotten out both of them have been silly mistakes. The coach can talk sense into him now that he sees this as a potential problem. If it was a problem with his skills I would be worried kind of like how I am worried about rokib. Run outs can be fixed, being useless as a batsmen can not.
I agree, junaid should still be in the team
although maybe nafees hasn't been selected becoz in the nets siddons has seen that he is not batting well

Rubu, that photo should be on the cover of National Geographic. Fantastic choice for the thread!

I am completely against junaid's exclusion at the moment. I like the way he strokes the deliveries of some of the best bowlers of top teams. But i beleive he is not Ashraful. If we judge the mode of his recent dismissals, he is either the victim of very good ball or run out or stumping. However, this match against Netherlands is our real chance to repair or even better the runrate than other group teams. If we win the toss we should bowl first, and try to bold out the dutch side in a very small total like WI did against us, and then get those runs in as few overs as possible. Batting first and scoring a very big total seems unlikely considering our batting inconsistency.
