Hathuri playing dirty to get rid of Imrul, to reinstate Soumya? Not even giving him time to recover from injury!
Quote:

There is no time for dhani panai....Imrul is not a player that you give him a break in practice game and then play him in real game (test)....if he has to play in the 5 day TEST, he needs to show that he can survive and score in 2 day games.... no place to hide.... as usual, the reporters are just trying to make something out of nothing.

I have no sympathy for Imrul, 100% support for Hatur daa in this case.

He has improved a lot, but still is a poor runner between the wickets. His average in ODIs and Tests is shockingly low. In our conditions, I still think he is the best opener to partner Tamim. When it comes to Champions Trophy, I actually prefer Sarker over Imrul since the tournament is an ICC event, and pitches will be good for batting.

For last three years, Imrul has been maintaining the second highest average among Bangladeshi batsmen, which is currently 48.58, being second only to Tamim (61.64). His SR 81.21 is currently even better than Tamim's (77.57).

I've been saying this for a while here, Imrul should be Tamim's opening partner. Soumya has done jack with the endless amount of opportunities he got, Anamul couldn't capitalize, and Liton is too inconsistent. While Imrul has been putting in a good shift consistently despite being in and out of the team.

Imrul has his limitations and should not be in consideration for the Test or T20I team, where we do need to look at other options. However, both fans and our team management have been making the huge mistake of judging his place in the ODI team based on his performances in other formats.

And he wasn't even in the Asia Cup squad in the first place let alone the starting XI. That begs the question are our selectors doing their job properly

Can ppl stop with the rubbish of calling him a stop gap solution? He is 31 and still has many years left in the tank.

That is precisely the reason I didnt want him to open. Because with Tamim gone, he is just a stop gap solution. I want Imrul to have a permanent spot at a particular position. If he is performing at no.2 .. dont play him at no.5 when Tamim gets back. Push Liton down or out.

but i just wanted to say... it was a class innings...... His shots were no fluke.. every single shot was confident and middle of the bat. I dont think I have seen many BD innings this convincing. I know its Zim but still.. our players seem to be shaky or run out of gas against any opponent really.

Imrul is neither a T20 nor a test player. It is mistake to choose him for those two formats.

He is a good ODI player.

I still believe had we picked Imrul as our opener alongside Tamim, we would have won the Tri series (Jan 2018).

Has Kayes ever received a MoS award, he is most likely to win it.

This I will disagree. IK's Test average for last three years has been 22. While he may still do well Zimbabwe, we should not waste this opportunity on him. Let Nurul keep, have Liton open with one from Mizan, Shanto, or Shadman.

As long as mushy doesn't keep because of Liton opening... I am fine with that

Average-wise, Kman is now among top 10 ODI batsmen who scored at least 1K runs in last three years -
