Default The Game Plan 2011

The New Formation and Changes In the Line-up

Tamim Iqbal
Imrul Kayes
Mohammed Ashraful
Alok Kapali
Shakib Al Hasan (vc)
Juhurul Islam (WK)
Raqibul Hasan
Junaid Siddique
Mashrafi Bin Mortaza ©
Abdur Razzak
Shafiul Islam

Position 1-4: Use of power play, Tamim and Co until Position 4 Must Attack wisely. Imrul Kayes should remain in the crease to allow opposite player to Attack and move the score along. One Must score a 50-Half Century amongst the top 4 attacking Batsmen ( Tamim, Ashraful, Kapali). The Top 4 Battling Line - up should bat until the 25th Over (Minimum) Score - 90 runs, Wicket Lost 4. Hence score is 90/4 in 25th over. (Favourably) Score 110 runs losing 4 wicket. (Minimum) 90 Runs (Favourable) 110 runs

Position 5-8: No Big shots, No Big risk. Play like Test Match, Should Aim to bat until 46th over. The field becomes open and is easy to take singles. From 25th over to 46th over the balls needed to be bowled is 126. Battling Line - up from position 5 to position 8 must occupy the crease and take singles and rotate strike often. No need for Big sixes or boundaries (4). Must Score (Minimum) 85 runs of 126 balls. (Favourable) score 105 runs of 126 runs. Hence 85 runs for 4 wickets in 21 over Minimum.

Position 9-11: should use power play to score (Minimum) 20 Runs. (Favourable) 30 runs in 5 Over’s.

Minimum Scenario:
Position 1-4 Minimum run score ( 90) + Position 5-8 Minimum run score (85) + Position 9-11 minimum run score (20) = 195/10

Favourable Scenario:
Position 1-4 Favourable run score (110) + Position 5-8 Favourable run score (105) + Position 9-11 Favourable run score (30) = 245/10

Minimum Team Score: 195/10
Favourable Team Score: 245/10

What is your formation or tactics to get the most of the Bangladeshi team?
(Mods if needed please correct any spelling mistakes or layout, Thank you)

Bhai are you not happy that our minimum score is 195, or should I say 58 respectively.
If I am wrong please correct me. Am sure our Bowlers can give a try to Fight with 195 runs on scorecard.

I included him becuase he is a risk taker... In the first 20 over u need someone who will take risk, If he clicks we might have u scoring 50 runs, if he doesnt well he should look at our minimum target and contribute by ateast scoring 15 to 20 run.

I don't think our line up needs to be changed. Only may be some of the ex ICLers if they perform well in NCL/DPL then should be considered seriously, without being 1% vindictive.

Dude that was the old Ash. He doesn't take risks anymore. What he does Is play 20 balls and at the 21st one he looses his concentration. That's not risk taking. And for no. 3 you need someone moderate. Someone that can consistently hit 30s at least and stop the flow of falling wickets. U need risk takers at no.7 or 6. Show me one team that plays risk takers at no. 3

Voted Non/Other

See no reason even to consider Aftab for the national team with his current form.

Kapali's bellow 20 averages in both Test and ODIs show how poor he was in opportunities he got. Nazimuddin was not impressive either in limited number of international matches he played. Even in domestic leagues, current national players have much better records than those two do. They should be in consideration, at best, for the A-team.

See no reason to think Jahurul a must for the ODI team at this point either. He was decent in limited opportunities he got, but there is no outstanding performance (not even a fifty). Like Alok and Nazim, he should be also sent on the A-team tour to prove his worth.

Well Nazimuddin was considered for the A-team and he averaged 35 against WI A in the two FC games and 52 with SR of 96 in the One-Day tri-series. And he has been continuing his superb form in the domestic circuit. What more has he got to do to earn a recall in your eyes? How long are you prepared to continue with Zunaed, Rokibul, Naeem, Riyad, Ash? I don't get why people say the team we have currently is fine. Weren't these players sold to us with the argument that they will come good eventually with time? How much longer do we have to wait or is their level of performance satisfactory and we should continue to stick with them, while players like Nazimuddin keep getting written off despite working their *** off because they didn't look good in the ten or so matches they played.

Enough of the oldies, bring in some new blood. Anamul Haque should be the next man in, replacing Mushy, though Mushy may stay as a batsman in tests; not sure about ODIs.

Ashraful? Some simply won't learn. The guy gets bowled facing straight balls for gods sake

The one thing you can do is bring Jahurul in for Rahim. Junaid should play at #6 as a lower order batsman to solve powerplay issues. Shuvagoto Hom should make debut soon enough and if he can find some form, he should play at 3 or 4 with Riyad.

Tamim
Kayes
Shuvagoto/Nazimuddin
Riyad
Shakib
Jahurul
Junaid+
Shabbir/Shuvo/Naeem
Razzak
Shafiul
Rubel

Agree with each and everything you said!

I just don't get it how ppl keep wanting Aftab, Kapali while they are not even performing up to the mark in the domestic arena. They can't just be taken on the basis of their three year old performances!

Having Ashraful at no. 3 qualifies you as even a bigger risk taker... i think you can try no. 3 also...

Why is everyone suddenly obsessed with alok kapali? Has he been performing special recently?
I thought he would never come back again to national side

First of all, Rakibul and Junaid are not attacking batsmen. If you watch any ODI match you will see that From the 25th Over and onwards the fielding side spreads and hence boundary becomes hard and catch becomes more likely. We have seen that Our Bangladesh Batsmen have either been bowled out or catched taken by opposition. The more Longer Batsmen Occupy the crease the more fraustion falls on opposition side. Hence if they can build a solid partnership of 100, They can easily reach a decent score. so my guess is that from position 5 to position 8 someone must score a half century from (shakib, Rakibul, Junaid). Now lets look at our current 7th and 8th position batsmen, Mahmuddullah & Naeem, Can you honestly say that they can score a 50?

so you are looking at Raqibul Hasan & Junaid vs Mahmuddullah & Naeem?
which one will u go for?

If Ashraful takes risk and comes out to score 50runs will u not be happy. Yes he is by far the most dangerous man if u look at the main master of run out choas. But select someone who has all the shots on the book that plays for bangladesh? None.

Either send Ashraful to county cricket or some different country to get his confidence back. Hey Look at Ashraful and Shahid Afridi Odi average, Shahid 23.65 and Ashraful 23.09 very similar.... It become more hard to keep your average high when you play alot of matches. Other batsmen of Ashraful ODI average: Kieron Pollard (21.32)
