Default Should BPL-3 Take Place Next Year?

After all the controversy surrounding the first two editions of BPL , the payment fiasco in particular, do you want a third edition of BPL next year? Is it worth it? Discuss.

Cant decide. We need BPL for our players. We need some professional people to run BPL. And no auction please. We should leave it to franchise to recruit their players.

Personally, I don't want to see another one anytime soon. Because of BPL BCB doesn't focus on other important issues at hand that are vital for our development, nor does it bring any good name for the country. I'm fed up of their unprofessionalism. No such tournament until and unless the people responsible are professional enough.

Tonight we had a good crowd and enjoyable match worth watching. Kids & young generation loves it. I'm with BPL.
I would say this franchisee-based business model aint suitable for Bangladesh. Fans really not need to be knowledged or bothered by these internal issues like payment stuff, they should be all done in confidential mutual contract signings under legal paperwork. These open auction, unknown seasonal businessmen involvemnts, players boycott threat, celebrity worshiping income figure etc are needless drama for cricket.
As a fan all I want to be well entertained with good performances of cricket from locals & foreigners, thats all.

Still early to say at this point.
All's well that ends well.
Lets wait and see how this edition ends.
Though the signs are not encouraging so far.

We need BPL for our cricket and cricketers. Just sort out the payment issues and dump some of the franchises.

I'm surprised our Dhaka league doesn't have list A status we hardly even play Cricket Domestically or Internationally and can't afford to lose BPL because our players need Cricket and gain stats. BCB is simply an embarrassment and have no shame, wish we could do something and get rid of them or should get their act together and act professional and strict.

What we need to do is remove the incompetent politicians who are running BCB and BPL and replace them with professionals who have dignity and a sense of national pride. BCB and BPL officials lack of dignity and national pride, which shows in their professional life.

After PCB declined to issue NOCs, Papon said something like they are taking BPL as a challenge and it has become a national challenge. I thought this time BCB will do everything possible to make BPL a success. And was equally impressed to see all the team owners were very cooperative. I was very optimistic about BPL2. They Really know how to break promises.

Still I would like to see BPL3. We need this for our players

Yes, we need to continue. If we don't than in the future when we try to start it again lots of questions will be raised, better to just work through it. I think for 2013 BCB needs to cut ties with all 7 franchises. Its not like the franchises signed contract with BCB so this shouldn't be a problem. Put the 7 teams up for auction again, and let individuals/company submit offers. I would even be ok with Indian companies buying franchises, they did it in SLPL and that seemed to work. BCB has to sign contract with the owners within a week or 2, none of that deadline change BS. If they can't do it on time, give it to the next best offer.

As for bringing in player we need to go out of our way and get Tim May to come in and look at everything so that they won't advise against BPL. If Tim May gives green signal it shouldn't be a problem getting Bideshi players.

^ In terms of organization, yes 100%. The organizers were the team owners. They didn't need contract or anything, they got it done. They even did it in Dubai, and had no problem. Can you imagine BPL trying to do something like that? Forget about it.

It should happen, but the organizational issues need to be fixed. Incompetent owners should be kicked out! (I don't mean that literally!)

Abar Jigai?

BPL is here to stay.... with or without International Players.

To serve its core purpose, international players are added value not necessity.

Nothing wrong with BPL. The problem is with crooked franchises and incompetent BPL governing body. Strict implementation of rules will solve the issues.

Another important factor will be, next BPL will be held under next government. If BNP comes into power then we may see drastic changes in BPL governing body. Who knows !
