We'll be playing quiet a few ODI's, and this is the format I want us to regularly beat the best in. Lets begin with West Indies, and India will come in 2012 for 3 ODI's, let's hope

cosecutive 4 coaches from Australia. They are Trevor Chappel, Dav Whatmore, Jemmie Siddons and now Sturt Law. They tried to make us like Australian cricket but didn't work. But we hope he can give us something better.

Aussies don't understand the BD culture and how to coach in BD. they try to change it instead of working with it. In India, Gary Kirsten didn't change India into SA. He worked with the team and got the best from them.

4th Australian coach with probably more Australian support coaches to come. When will the BCB learn?

জাতীয় দলের প্রধান কোচ চূড়ান্ত হয়ে গেছে। জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরেই স্টুয়ার্ট ল’কে পাচ্ছে বাংলাদেশ। সহকারী কোচ হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করতে যাচ্ছেন জাতীয় দলের সাবেক কোচ সারওয়ার ইমরান।

যদিও জিম্বাবুয়ে প্রস্তুতি ক্যাম্পের শুরু থেকে নতুন কোচ দায়িত্ব নিতে পারছেন না। সহকারী কোচের তত্ত্বাবধানে ২ জুলাই থেকে ব্যাটেবলের প্রস্তুতি শুরু হবে জাতীয় দলের। দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় তিনদিনের যে প্রীতি ম্যাচটি খেলবে বাংলাদেশ সেখানেও ল’র উপস্থিতি নাও থাকতে পারে। প্রধান কোচের অনুপস্থিতিতে সারওয়ার ইমরানই হয়তো চালিয়ে নিবেন। তবে জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরে গিয়ে বড় কোচের হাতে দায়িত্ব সপে দিতে হবে ইমরানকে।

এই যে আপতকালীন কোচ হিসেবে দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়েছে, প্রয়োজন শেষ হলে ইমরানকে ফিরে যেতে হতে পারে ‘এ’ অথবা বয়সভিত্তিক কোন দলের সঙ্গে। এনিয়ে এশিয়ান গেমসে স্বর্ণ জয়ী কোচের কোন আক্ষেপ নেই। আসলে তিনি তো এখনো জানেনই না জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরে যাচ্ছেন কী না। দলে তার ভূমিকা কি হবে। ২ জুলাই থেকে যে জাতীয় দলের অনুশীলন ক্যাম্প হবে সেবিষয়েও আনুষ্ঠানিক কিছু জানেন না। অবশ্য সহকারী কোচ হিসেবে সারওয়ার ইমরানের জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরে যাওয়ার বিষয়ে কোন বাঁধা নেই। বাংলাদেশ ক্রিকেট বোর্ড (বিসিবি)’র মিডিয়া বিভাগের চেয়ারম্যান জালাল ইউনুস মঙ্গলবার বাংলানিউজকে জানিয়েছেন,“জিম্বা� ��ুয়ে সফরে সহকারী কোচ হিসেবে সারওয়ারই হয়তো থাকবে।”

জাতীয় দলের সহকারী কোচ স্থানীয়দের মধ্যথেকে হবেন স্টুয়ার্ট ল’কে নিয়োগ দেওয়ার আগেই আলোচনা করে নিয়েছে বিসিবি। সেদিক থেকে স্থায়ীভাবে সারওয়ার ইমরানের সহকারী কোচ হওয়ার সম্ভাবনা উড়িয়ে দেওয়া যায় না।

Welcome aboard coach. Wishing you all the best, hope you select different teams for different formats. P.S drop imrul from tests, his average after 13 tests and 26 innings is disgraceful. Shariar Nafees can open with Tamim in Test matches.

Hope you can make some drastic changes. I was a huge fan of you in your playing days.

Like Simmons, Law was a grafter - built a good first-class career out of less than stellar talent.

I'd make the same recommendation I've made for the last however-many years ... more first-class cricket in different conditions.

ঢাকা: জাতীয় ক্রিকেট দলের প্রধান কোচ স্টুয়ার্ট ল এবং ফিল্ডিং কোচ জেসন সুইফট সোমবার সকালে ঢাকায় এসে পৌঁছেছেন।

প্রধান কোচ শ্রীলঙ্কার সঙ্গে সমস্ত সম্পর্ক চুকিয়ে ইংল্যান্ডে ফিরেছেন। সুইফট ইংলিশ কাউন্টি ক্লাব ল্যাঙ্কাশায়ারে কোচ ও অ্যানালিস্ট হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছিলেন।

জাতীয় দলের অস্ট্রেলিয়ান কোচদ্বয় বাংলাদেশের সঙ্গে দুই বছরের জন্য চুক্তিবদ্ধ হয়েছেন। দায়িত্ব নিয়েই জিম্বাবুয়ে সফরের জন্য সংক্ষিপ্ত সময়ে দল প্রস্তুতিতে হাত লাগাবেন তারা। পাঁচটি একদিনের ক্রিকেট সিরিজ ও একটি টেস্ট খেলতে ২৭ জুলাই জিম্বাবুয়ের উদ্দেশে ঢাকা ছাড়বেন ক্রিকেটাররা। সঙ্গে থাকবেন নতুন নিয়োগপ্রাপ্ত প্রধান কোচ ল, ফিল্ডিং কোচ সুইফট এবং ভারতীয় বংশোদ্ভূত দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকান নাগরিক ফিজিও বিভব সিং। ফিজিও ঢাকায় আসবেন ২০ জুলাই।

এদিকে মিরপুর শেরেবাংলা জাতীয় স্টেডিয়ামে জাতীয় দলের প্রস্তুতি ম্যাচ চলছে জিপি-বিসিবি একাডেমি দলের বিপক্ষে।
