And BFF is going to remove the cricket pitch (

I thing the BCB bosses wil be happy as there will be a chance to manage more money when it will be time for cricekt again and the wicket will be rebiuld

And there are talks for renovating BNS yet again. Alas, a huge money was spend for both the stadiums just few months ago prior to WC.

Everything should have a limit.

মেসিদের ঢাকা সফর সফল করতে বাফুফের ডাকে এগিয়ে এসেছে সরকার। বাফুফে ভবনে কাল জাতীয় ক্রীড়া পরিষদের (এনএসসি) চেয়ারম্যান ক্রীড়া প্রতিমন্ত্রী আহাদ আলী সরকার তাঁর পারিষদবর্গ নিয়ে সভায় বসেছিলেন। বাফুফের প্রায় সব ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাই ছিলেন। ঐতিহাসিক এই সফর উপলক্ষে গঠিত কমিটির পৃষ্ঠপোষক ক্রীড়া প্রতিমন্ত্রীর কাছে মাঠ এবং প্রয়োজনীয় অবকাঠামো সংস্কারের আবেদন জানিয়েছে বাফুফে। সহযোগিতা করার প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন মন্ত্রী।
বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে আর্জেন্টিনা-নাইজেরিয়া ম্যাচ ৬ সেপ্টেম্বর। দুই দলের অনুশীলন সেশন থাকবে দুটি করে। বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়াম তো আছেই, মিরপুর ও ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়াম এনএসসির কাছে চেয়েছিল বাফুফে। মিরপুর নয়, ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়াম দিচ্ছে এনএসসি।
মন্ত্রীর সঙ্গে কাল সভা শেষে সেটিই জানালেন বাফুফের সহসভাপতি বাদল রায়, ‘ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়াম দেওয়ার ব্যাপারে মন্ত্রী সম্মতি দিয়েছেন। ওই মাঠের পিচ এমনিতেই বিসিবির তুলে ফেলার কথা। কাজেই পিচটা উঠে যাবে। আমরা পরিপূর্ণ একটা মাঠই দেব অতিথি দলকে অনুশীলনের জন্য।’ এই সফর উপলক্ষে গঠিত কমিটির চেয়ারম্যান আনোয়ারুল হক হেলাল যোগ করলেন, ‘দুই দলের জন্য সকল সুযোগ-সুবিধাই চাই। কোথায় কী লাগবে, সেটা আমরা জানিয়েছি এনএসসিকে।’
বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে দুই দলের একটি করে অনুশীলন সেশন থাকছে। ফতুল্লায় সম্ভবত অনুশীলন করবে আর্জেন্টিনা, কমলাপুরে নাইজেরিয়া। তবে খেলা বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে হওয়ায় এখানকার মাঠ নিয়েই যত চিন্তা।
গত ১০ বছরে ১০০ কোটি টাকার ওপরে সংস্কারের কাজ হলেও বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামে আজও পানিনিষ্কাশন পদ্ধতি বলতে কিছু নেই। একটু ভারী বৃষ্টি হলেই মাঠে পানি জমে। এ জন্য এনএসসি ছয় মাসের জন্য মাঠটা চেয়েছে। কিন্তু সেটা এই মুহূর্তে সম্ভব নয়। তা ছাড়া মাঠটা আন্তর্জাতিক মানে নেওয়া যাবে কি না, প্রশ্ন থেকেই যাচ্ছে।
ড্রেসিং রুম, প্রেসবক্স, ভিআইপি বক্স...ইত্যাদি সংস্কারও গুরুত্ব পাচ্ছে। বিশেষ করে বঙ্গবন্ধু স্টেডিয়ামের ড্রেসিং রুমের আধুনিকায়ন চেয়েছে বাফুফে। এমনকি আন্ডারগ্রাউন্ড ড্রেসিং রুমের দাবিও তোলা হয়েছে মন্ত্রীর কাছে। মন্ত্রী কোনো বিষয়েই ‘না’ করেননি।
‘বাফুফেকে আমরা সর্বাত্মক সহযোগিতা করব। বঙ্গবন্ধু, কমলাপুর এবং ফতুল্লা স্টেডিয়ামে আমরা প্রয়োজনীয় সংস্কার কাজ করে দেব’—বলেছেন ক্রীড়া প্রতিমন্ত্রী।

Fatualla currently has the best sporting pitch in the country. And why on earth they want to build a new one? And why BFF is always after cricket grounds?? They have kamalapur and BNS...use BKSP or army stadium if you want.

And they are talking about improving BNS VIP stand and the press box! ICC and BCB wasted 47 cr. to improve the facilities and I believe the facilities are World Class(BFF got all these for free). May be the dressing rooms need a bit improvement and nothing else.

Offcourse they will need to renovate the already double renovated stadium.
Renovation means more money allocation, which means yet another big budget, means some people making money.

Offcourse the sports minister won't say no to this.

What's happening here? Cricket takes football ground and football takes cricket grounds ...and in the process they disturb both the sports. why cant they stick to their own?

the match is on BBNs .....fatullah will be used for practice of argentina

I thought the Fatullah pitch was going get renovated anyway to build a good drainage system there. So BFF is taking this oppurtunity to use fatullah for football practice.

ক্রিকেটের নিজস্ব কিছু স্টেডিয়াম দরকার। এখন আমাদের স্টেডিয়ামগুলোর মালিকানা ন্যাশনাল স্পোর্টস কাউন্সিলের হাতে। তারা তাদের ইছে মত স্টেডিয়াম বরাদ্দ দিতে পারে।

ওয়ার্ল্ড কাপ উপলক্ষ্যে বিসিবির অনেকেই বেশ বড় অঙ্কের অর্থের মুখ দেখেছেন বিভিন্নভাবে। বাফুফের লোকজনের একটু ইর্ষা হবারই কথা। আর্জেন্টিনার খেলা আয়োজনের মুল কারন হয়তো এইটাই।

Yeah, it would have been great to see Bangladesh playing against Argentina and Messi. They would probably have lost by 15/20 goals, but it would still have been a lifetime experience for Bangladeshi fans.

FIFA will never allow to play this type of different ranked team. Because this type of game may make a record breaking result.
