Default BD's pace attack in WI series

I am opening up this thread with my superficial knowledge in BD's current pace attack.
I know Mash is mashed. Are we going to have only two pacers like Shafiul and Rubel all the time? Is there any other emerging BD pacers now to add a new dimension to our pace attack, specially against WI?

Nazmul Hossain is a good option at home, with a nagging line and length, some movement and a great slower ball. In fact he could be more economical than Rubel and Shafiul.

to be sarcastic, pace "attack"??? theres nothing about our pace bowling attacking, except maybe sometimes when Rubel is bowling.

to be serious, Nazmul should get a nod over shafiul at least a couple of games this time. Rubel has been consistent for the past year, and if nurtured better, he can do better indeed.

Just watching West Indies here in England and they are very weak batting wise. They cannot seem to cope with slower ball variations from the faster bowlers or spin. I hope Nazmul gets an extended run in the team.

Anyone with pace with swing or variations, will do well.

I hope our overly knowledge selectors will keep or have some knowledge on this as well. Najmul is always ignored and I sense that he will be ignored again..

Shafiul is very expensive even against the BD-A team batsmen. He should be rested for Nazmul. He didn't improve a bit since his debut game. He is still bowling the same way.

Its not always selectors; even if he is in the 15 member team, he wasn't picked in playing 11 on many occassions. But every time he played he bowled with discipline, he some how lacks the x factor that rubel & shafiul and even Shahrukh has displayed on occassions. That's probably one the reasons he is under rated by all.

I'd rather prefer Farhad Reza or Syed Rasel over Shafiul. Nazmul is a MUST in the ODI's and Rubel's there too. Shahadat's in for Test.

Get 3 spinners in, all our pacers are mediocre except Mashrafe, play only 1 pacer whoever is the best(shafiul, rubel, nazmul).

Agree with you, Shafiul's economy rate is one of the highest in cricket history, it's 5.96

that's not their main XI, they sent mostly young players who just debuted. For BD they will send their best XI but you are right their batting is still not very strong.

Chanderpaul, Darren Bravo, Simmons are all set to play in BD series. They are lot better than most of these batsmen playing england

looks like England batsmen are much weaker against spin than WI 2nd xi batsmen. I hope we play England soon, for us they are the weakest team to beat among g8 we beat them twice in last 4 odi.

They are when they rest Strauss, Cook Pietersen, Bell, Trott, Morgan, Anderson, Broad etc etc etc and play the kids, what do you expect?

This is England's 3rd choice team - and full of kids

T20's and ODIs: Nazmul, Rubel, Shafiul, Rasel
Reason: I would have Razzak out. I know it's not happening but he just hasn't been good this year. Naeem and Riyad are doing a good enough job with their bowling. Add to that, WI has a lot of lefties. So no need for 3 SLA's. Plus, Rasel should be back in the fold. His tight line and length bowling is what we need for the shorter forms of the game. If it was up to me, I would have Rubel, Nazmul and Rasel in the XI.

Tests: Shahadat, Rubel, Shafiul, Robiul
Reason: Shahadat is still our only pacer that has the ability to take multiple 5fers. We desperately need guys who can take wickets and Shahadat in this way is a must. Rubel and Shafiul have the potential to be wicket takers at this level. Robiul in the last test was the only 1 trying to take wickets. I feel he's got ability as a bowler and needs to be groomed further. In my XI, I would take Shahadat, Rubel and Shafiul.

Really? They were the last of the lot we beat.... They also were testing youngsters. This wouldn't even be the "B" team.
