Funny how sometimes people use the line, 'oh he was the highest scorer cut him some slack' line for some players, but even after scoring a 50 and being the highest scorer today Nasir is still getting the it lacked intensity/surrender kind of innings.
Keep up the good work Nasir. Whether it looked pretty or not, you were able to put up a fight today at least. We expect to see more of this in the near future.

if we had won i'm sure the sentiment would be in reverse with people saying it was a really good innings. but even if you remove the situation that nasir entered into, and you just look at his innings i.e. 50 runs at 128 then it's still a fine t20 innings, any batsman going out there to bat will be happy with that innings and any coach/captain/team mate will be happy with that performance.

anyway this innings has persuaded me that nasir should be given an extended run as #4, certainly in t20s and one-dayers.

Well to be fair, Zia performed very well in the BPL and hasn't done too badly leading up to this match. Milon, to be honest, looks just like Zia. He's another one trick pony. And let Babu play more Academy/A team cricket before he comes in.
I agree though, Zia looked woeful today. He really got exposed against quality bowling. He might just be a short term solution until we have guys like Babu and Soumya come in.

we should scored around 150 to try and limit NRR damage and we failed.
Nasir played a really good knock. It might not have been pretty but it wasn't ugly either. No chances, no edges till he got out.

why not play someone like shabbir or even shuvagata? a more recognised batsman. it's not like zia bowls much his medium pacers wouldn't be missed to much.

Definitely. Shabbir is already on the stand by list for the WC squad, so clearly the selectors know of his ability. He'll probably get his chance in the upcoming series against the West Indian HP unit. Shuvagata also wouldn't be a bad choice. Their definitely much better batsmen overall compared to Zia.

What a gem he is man!!! Deserve his 100 but
Such a consistent player in every single format This is why i always support him when ppl call for his head without any valid reason. Heck, some ppl even wanted to drop him for this test
Keep proving your critics wrong Nasir

96 was Shakib's favourite number. Looks like Nasir follows his footsteps. Good innings for sure. And in Nasir I see Bangladesh's future.

Nasa is by far the most talented & consistent btsmn BD ever produced.
Even TI or Sak so early in their career weren't no where as good as Nasa.

He's a good player he just seems to have the mental strength that one needs to be successful in international cricket. Wish he had got the ton though.

Yeah I've noticed it earlier that he doesn't have a solid technique.. Much like Shakib's at the beginning part of his career... but as long as he has that fighting attitude he will be as successful as Shakib or might surpass him one day

Curse of 96 strikes again! Played well unlucky to miss out on the ton especially after rejecting 4 singles.

Excellent innings but at the last moment he was impatient. Bad luck, however hope for more good innings from him.

Yes its a disapointment... but to me its almost as good as a century just 3 runs short. This innings will give him more confidence and breathing room. The way Naeem and Nasir set up their innings is something to learn for their senior players in the team.

Thought it was the best knock of the inning. Started pretty solid, paced it well and didn't do a bad job of batting with the tail. Not to mention he's only 20. Definitely proved why he's a keeper once again.
