This is my first ever "offiShial" thread.
Onek diner shokh erokom ekti thread khulbo, here goes:



Shamim Ch. deserves a thread like this,here we can talk about...u know what
Here is a poem(fun) I wrote, a tribute to our beloved Shamim Chowdhury.

আমাদের প্রিয় শামিম চৌধুরী
পেশায় তিনি করেন commentary
কথায় তার নেই কোনো জুরি
বেশি যখন কথা বলে
মনে হয় দেই মাথায় বাড়ি

অতিথি আপপায়ন কাকে বলে
যদি জানতে চান শুনুন তাহলে
শামিম এর কথায় বরফও গলে
পারলে যে দেয় নিজের লুঙ্গিটা খুলে
এমন commi আছে যে দলে
ভেবে গর্বে বুকখানি উঠে যে ফুলে

বাক বাকুম পায়রা
শুনেন দেখি ভায়রা
শামিম এর পেচাল আজেইরা
শুনতে শুনতে বয়রা
মনে হয় Firstlane ভাইয়ের আশির্বাদ নিয়া
দেই বেটার সব চুল ছিরা

ইংরেজিতে অনার knowledge অসীম
মনে হয় বলি "দেন গুরু তালিম"
নেশা নেশা কন্ঠ যেন চাষ করে আফিম
overdose হলে বলি "চুপ কর শামিম!"

commentator হিসেবে খুবই stylish
যতই চেষ্টা করুন হতে পারবেননা Shamim-ish
popularity তে হার মেনেছে জাতীয় মাছ ইলিশ
লাভ হয়নি , করেছিলাম বিসিবি তে নালিশ
"মাফ করেন" বলেছিলেন আমাকে লইট্টা করে ফিসফিস
কুফা শামিম এমনি এক জিনিস

নিজেকে ভাবেন ক্রিকেট জ্ঞানী
mic টা নিয়ে যখন বসেন তিনি
শুরু হয়ে যায় বুকের ধরফরানি
এই বুঝি গেল উইকেট খানি
"কোপা শামসু ,থামা এই কুফার বাণী
গেল সব উইকেট , ইনিংস হার এর হাতছানি "
ভাবি চট্ট্রগ্রাম বন্দরে কোনো কন্টেনার এ ভরে করব বাইরে রপ্তানি
বেচে যায় জাতি মুছে যায় কোটি পড়া কপাইল্লা ক্রিকেট প্রেমীর গ্লানী !

On topic, I hate, I HATE how he over-pronounces some words, and makes it sound so weird.

And every time Shakib gets the ball, "oh the arm-ball" talk goes on!! EVERY TIME!

At least Shamim is not monotonous like Athar Ali Khan. Shamim is better than the most available BD commentators. You go boy!
