Quality of our sports reporters??

i m a big fan of sports news......i always like to follow all the newspapers....i know all the cricket fans do the same....we actually rely on them....what they say, what they write from their own common sense always gets a huge response from us....it''s up to them on the matter of writing 100% truth.....i felt sum '''odvut achoron''' sumtimes...Yesterday Stuart Law said that Ash needs to perform to stay in the team....But sum newspapers making this Stuart Law wanted Ash in the team!!!!!! Now you see extra love from them for Ash...Is this necessary to make it a huge issue before the test match???? Why U can't trust the selectors???? they r well aware of the whole situations.....before wc11 they made drama on ash including....don't u guys think Alok was necessary on that No.7 spot??? i really doubt they've got any sports reporting education.....Our most popular Prothom-alo showed extra partiality to shakib...Why was that necessary??? was it coz Shakib used to write collumn in Prothom-alo??? why u can't b neutral??? than come to samakal; they always loves to mention ""Nam prokashe onicchhuk"" source....And that Kalerkantho they love to write Masala news based on Rumor and 80% false...they asking Akram today.''Why you axed Razzak????'''.Do u think Razzak is a test bowler??..i really don't understand this...once Jamie asked a reporter, "Do Ash paid you to write???'''' So i m also started believing this, so many news r made by $$$$$$ I hope they will show 100% sports philosophy that can actually improve our cricket quality.

Why all of our voters say, repoters are worse? Are they always worse? Which type of reports actually we expect. IMO they are nothing special but not too bad.

A couple of comments.

First - Shaun, please do not get your panties in a wad. Take the comments about post readability as being constructive and as a new and very welcome member, we hope you continue sharing your thoughts here.

Second - My favorite two journalists are Rabeed and Isam. Both are Daily Star alums, with Isam still with the paper. They know their cricket and they wrote about it well. They both write English English and not Bangla English - more on that on another thread.

Rabeed no longer writes much after his move to BCB but Isam has grown from strength to strength. I have become very fond of his take no prisoners style. He says what needs to be said. And does it well.

Another sports writer I enjoy reading is Shakil Kasem (he is not a reporter) but he does know how to turn a phrase.

Uh, yes I like that! Although I wish you'd used "Don't dig your own grave," that seems to be doing the trick. Then again, you are the boss. You know the best.

I like Islam too. I only read the ones that makes it to CI. Those are usually decent. I also like Zeeshan from BC (though I haven't read any of his stuff TBH).

Different kind of reporter. But now that you mention it, I wonder how good of a writer AAK, Kufa, CJS will make..

I second Zunaid on Shakil Kasem. Very knowledgable writer.

I wish we had players like Jahangir Shah Badsha have the might of pen as well but he is out of cricket and busy with his business/work.

I am not sure how good or bad the sports reporters are but I can definitely say the Sports EDITORS suck.

Especially the English dailies we have. Plagiarising equals to cheating.
