So Imrul became an automatic choice even after not having form for a long long time?

Hom only has a decent innings followed by a complete performance disaster. On the other hand, Alok didnt have a lot of chance. He played well on the domestic recently.

Allah bachaise ROCKYBULL ta re baad dise!! And really really happy for Ash on his exclusion. He could use a break. But Shuvo should have been in the squad. Imrul is another disappointment.

i think selection is alright in every aspect. BCB still dont care about T20. most players are unfit for T20
Hom is going through awful form, so is junaid and ashraful is alltime careless
In test: hopefully they will axe reza and razzaq and take shuvo and enam JR (he is in his peak form now)
Dhiman ghosh deserve a chance too
we need kapali in T20. so its a good selection
i guess selectors are giving anamul, mominul more time to get experience

Good squad but a bit harsh on Shuvo. I am not a fan but he's been doing well in the Caribbean. And is Sunny really a good option for the limited-overs formats? He was quite expensive in the only Test he played. I hope they aren't planning on playing Imrul and Naeem in the T20s.

Hom and Jahurul have only got themselves to blame. I know selectors have a tendency to put test players in odis and vice versa, but sunny has decent dpl stats and can bat a bit so he's worth a shout. reza could be handy in the t20 where that extra 10-15 runs with the bat could make a difference.

A pretty good squad overall. A big pressure series for Alok, Razzak, Imrul and SN. If they struggle yet again in this tour, then their positions will be reassessed for sure. Let's hope they all do well. And no surprise to see Farhad back. I believe he deserved a call up after consistent performances. Hopefully he does better this time around. Relieved to see Ash not there. Let him continue to play in the NCL. Shuvagata also deserved to get dropped. Shuvo deserved to be there though in my opinion. He'll probably be in the Test squad. Anyways best of luck to this squad.

The selectors have done well, this is a really good squad picked for the ODIs. You could make a good case for every selection they've made.
I like the fact they have not selected Jahurul and Hom, this should be a message that you have to perform consistently to be picked and won't get selected by default as was the case in the past. These guys are still young and can improve and this should be part of their learning curve, it will improve their mentality.
I'm ecstatic that Ash, Rokibul and Junaid have not been selected, the national team should have no place for consistent under performers who have had umpteenth chances.
Some may question why Imrul has been retained. First of all this squad is only for the ODIs (and T20) so we don't know if he will be selected for the Tests. I think it's good that the selectors are backing and keeping faith with Imrul as he has been a consistent performer. However he has had a slump in form in ODIs, he has only averaged 15 in his last 8 ODIs. If he doesn't perform in this series then he should be dropped too. I think the selectors are hoping that he does well in the ODIs and then they will probably pick him for the Test series, this would be unwise IMO as Imrul has consistently failed in Test matches. He should go back and improve his game in the NCL and A-team games.
It may be harsh that Suhrawadi Shuvo was dropped but there is a lot of completion for the SLA places. Obviously Shakib is an auto choice, and then Sunny has been impressive in his debut outing for the National team, and also has good List A and DPL records. Abdur Razzak has been recalled after taking a bucket load of wickets in the NCL since he was dropped, so he has had to perform well to get back into the side.
With ODIs now operating with two new balls, spin bowling may be less effective if the pitch is not helpful. So this is why the selection of Farhad Reza is a good one. Again the selectors are showing that they are making rational choices based on good logic. At the moment there are not many pace bowling all-rounders to choose from, but Reza has been in good form and has played for the National team before, so he ticks a lot of the boxes. He may turn out to be a stop gap till Mashrafe is back or Alauddin Babu develops, but for the moment, he could turn out to be a shrewed selection.
Alok Kapali may consider himself lucky to be retained but again there are not many big hitters in Bangladesh and this should be his final chance. I think he should be given a spot in the team in this series in the number 7 role and if he doesn't perform he should be dropped for good (joining his buddy Ash), then he can't complain that he wasn't given enough of a chance.
I hope Mushy and the team management follow the selectors and make some bold decisions. I don't want them to "dilute" the batting line-up by picking too many under performers (Imrul+Nafees), and picking players in positions that they are not suited to (Naeem+ Riyad slogging down the order etc). I would go for something like this:-
Tamim: auto
Imrul/Nafees: these two should be competing for one place
Shakib: the best batsmen in the team should bat as high up as possible, seems like the higher he bats the better he does
Mushy: the form batsmen in the team and this is his best position
Riyad: good middle order batsmen, not too high or low in the order,
Nasir: he is suited to this position, hope he can develop into a quality finisher
Kapali: Last chance saloon, clean striker of the ball
Reza/Razzak: depending on pitch, should be noted that Razzak has been poor in his last 17 games
Sunny: started very well in Tests, lets see how he does in ODIs
Shafiul/Nazmul: Shafiul should no longer be considered an auto choice
Rubel: has been bowling really well without always getting rewarded with wickets.
