Default Salahuddin Axed !

Direct hit we have a good percentage also. It is the catching that we lack. 3/4 drops every game is uncalled for and certainly can be improved upon.

BCB must get the props in initiating A team tournament against WI-A and SA-A teams. We should aim for winning the tourney.

I guess it was about time. Salahuddin was a good coach who did quite a bit of work with our fielding over the years, but recently it's been way too shabby.

Hey look, more A team games and four day matches! Hubba hubba!

OMG!! No "wicked" comment? j/k.

Summary: Salahuddin contract will not be extended as the National team fielding coach. BCB is not happy with his work with the National team (national team's performance). He will be assigned to other teams (may be academy, A team or U-19). Kalpage (SL'an, our Academy batting coach) will take over that spot temporarily. BCB hopes soon to employ a SA or Aus fielding coach for the national team.

And then there is an A team tournament next year April: SA, WI and BD are the teams who will participate.

Compared to the other Teams there Direct Hits are always on target we alwsays miss an easy run out chance or 2 a match.

The BCB also said that the South Africa and West Indies A teams would tour Bangladesh in April-May 2010. The teams would participate in a tri-nation one-day tournament with Bangladesh A, and play two four-day matches each with Bangladesh A.
Never Mind ... Some National Teamers need to play in these matches before we head of to england for Tests

Salauddin did his job so far well as a Bangladeshi Coach.....Its a team of around 20 years old young boys. If we expect something brilliant fielding like other internationally star fielder then its wrong..these player may be those fieldrs after some more experiences and years...
yes we need a better one.

so thanx to Salauddin for his contribution. He contributed what least he could

Hope actual better one is coming to replace him and our player will also upgrade their quality under his guidance .

Best of luck to Coach Salahuddin.

I would say he has done a great job. our fielding has improved ever since Whatmore took over...players missing catches is just players loss of focus/absent-mindedness...blame should not be attributed to him( unless those are repeated by the same player...then it is the coach's fault for not picking it up)

now to judege whether it is a right move or not should be determined by his successor. how better of a job will his successor will do??

I would have preferred a South african or Austrlian coach in fielding..

Dont you think that should be the prime reason for them to be one of the best fielding sides in the world, MB?

They are young, which means they should be fit, energetic, atheltic and more enthusiatic in the field. An exuberance of that youthfulness should also be exhibited more often in the field.

Offcourse you get better with time, but fielding is something you can pick up from early on and if the team can perform like a hungry wolf in the field, that would naturally have an positive impact on the batsmen and the bowlers.

For the lastb few series, fielding was not that good. And somebody has to take a hit, and fortunately or unfortunately the fielding coach had to take the hit.

WC was also horribe. What they are going to do about that?

Should Hira, the manager and past WC should also take the hit?

hmm It is...but its not consistent enough to be compared with other powerful fielding teams. Emerging boys can serve for few matches even more brilliantly.but they may suffer from weaker body fitness, Less experience, lack of having the perfect skill of best performance & performing accordingly - due to age factor.

current wicket keeper for an example. He is young talented....but facing huge problem. More experience and learning more skills may help him later in future, imo. Experience differs a lot.

IMO, it's fine that BCB wants to try out someone else as the fielding coach (Kalpage is an excellent candidate there). But I find it very disturbing that how Salahuddin was never given credit for developing a fine spin department - the strongest part of Bangladesh team.

He also had to spend significant amount of time helping batsmen in nets. Has Siddons even allotted him enough time to work on fielding drills?!

May be its good for both end.

Fielding coach is not Salahuddin's strength and I believe that's not where his heart is. May be that will open up the opportunity where his heart is and where his strength is i.e. head coach for a team whether its age level team, development team or team-a.

Coach Siddons and some Bangladesh players are disappointed:

Yes, JS is right about this.

No matter who the national coach was, Salahuddin bhai is the go-to guy. He is THE person that does the daily training with the players. The gym, the running, the stretches, and many other function. He is quiet, but busy every day. The players rely on him, they also trust and like him. He often works as the go-between for the players and others. Often if there is an issue, the players call on "Salahuddin bhai" to fix it.

This is strange.
