I like the look of this team... pace bowling might be a little weak but they have got the spin department + bd conditions to make up for it. There is enough stable batters and power players in this line up

(3) A. Russel (WI) $85,000 - good all rounder, he was good in last series against us.
(4) S. Jaysuria (SL) $110,000 - the old fox can spark anytime ith bat and ball.
(5) Neil O'Brain (IRE) $80,000 - a very tricky buy as you need to buy at least one from the associates..he is a good wkt keeper and good hitter of the ball.
(6) D. Smith (WI) $50,000 - not sure why KRB bought him
(7) J. Batler (Eng) $25,000 - never heard of him
(8] S. Chandarpaul (WI) $25,000 - he will bring experience in the middle order. very good buy for 25K
(9) Nasir Hossain $200,000 - currently the best All rounder of the country after Shak
(10) Abdur Razzak $85,000 - Shak Razzak partnership is very effective
(11) Shafiul Islam $65,000 - our /national fast bowler
(12) Dollar Mahmud $20,000 - mini All rounder with fast bowling option..
(13) Marshal Aiyub $20,000 - good batsman
(14) Maishukur Rahman $20,000 - one of the promising opener for last yea
(15) Sagir Hossain Pavel $20,000 - local boy, good batsman plus keeper
(16) Shahadat Hossain $100,000 - SRK
(17) Nazmul Hossain Milon $35,000 - Isnt he the guy who is famous for hitting sixes
(18) F. Edwards (WI) $60,000 - good fast bowling partner for shafiul

strength - spin bowling and very strong middle order..
lacking - fast bowling unless srk brings his form back..

notable player missing - They could have bid for a paki pacer who are effective on our pitch.. I am very surprised to see there is no RTD in the auction.. he could be a big win for KRB..

Another very strong team but their seam attack will backfire. Except Edwards, Russel and shaiul at times, they all sux. spin is their strength as it will ,lead by shak. Their bench looks great to with player like Shiv, O'brian, Smith, M.Ayub.

-Very strong Top/Middle order bat
-Very strong spin attack
Good pace attack

As Afridi is not playing Khulna is equal strong as Dhaka. They have more all rounders than any other team in the Bpl

This is an excellent squad for T20, they have so many big hitters, the only weakness is lack of pace, if they could have got Dirk Nannes or some other experienced T20 pacer then they would have had the undisputed best squad, I think this team should be favourites to win the competition.
Those who haven't heard of Jos Buttler, he is a young WK who blasts the ball, I expect him to be a regular in the England ODI and T20 team soon.

They also have N. O'Brian, the Irish wk batsman. Will be interesting to see who they pick

They can play both of them as long as they play one of them as purely a batsman.

^^ Who knows, he might not turn up. If Afridi has 'national duties' by playing for Pakistan against England in UAE, then Jayasuriya certainly has national duties as a Sri Lankan MP.

Yet, he might do very good infact. Specially the fav pitch in Dhaka and Not too many quality bowlers... specially amongst the locals ... he will have his chances for sure.

Infact, i think khulna has made the most balanced team... and Shak is there to do the max damage with bat and ball.

Shakib with the bat in Twenty20 is really not that good. His experience with the bat in IPL & County cricket Twenty20 was not impressive at all. He misses one ball. He starts panicking & then tries to play an unnecessary shot. But though that was a thing of the past now . Maybe now I hope he can bat well in Twenty20.

Always with Shak's team, but has to say the International players are pretty below par and the worst pace attack perhaps amongst all teams. I mean who in their right minds would buy Shahadat for that price?

Exactly my thought !!! Why they went for both Jayasuriya n Chanderpaul ??? I don't think they are T20 type players...didn't even manage to get Pollard/Bravo... Also they should've got either Murali/Ajmal because apart from Shak and with Shahadat, Razzak their bowling dept looks pretty ordinary compared to Dhaka and Chittagong.. .. The pressure will be on Shakib for both batting and bowling and we know already that Shak is not a good T20 batsman .... Don't know how Shakib always manage to end up in a pretty ordinary side where he doesn't get much support from the team to win !!! Specially when you look at Ash. He doesn't perform still his team wins...it's happening in DPL and it will happen in BPL too

Because Ash is a better captain than Shakib. But worse batsman. Ash jodi ektu consistent hoito tahole or theke keo captaincy nite parto na. Shakib also performed really well with the ball under Ash.
Ash's team is not a good one but winning most of the games because of his captaincy.

Hope Shakib will improve his T20 batting in this tournament. We really need his batting in T20 WC in May/June.

Oh then let's give back the captaincy to Ash (I mean for our national team) !!! He might very well lead us to victory in every match !!! I would be more than happy to see that .

BTW you can check the match archives to find out how good his captaincy was. I never blame the captain for a defeat nor do I give them all the credit for a win!! A captain is as good as the team. When you have performers you don't need to do much as a captain. All your decision seems right then (that's what happened in Dhoni's case too). But the challenge is when you win matches with some average players and sometimes just by your own performance. I don't want to mention how many times Shakib has done that. It's not like I am a fan of Shakib so I hate Ash. Let Ash perform and prove his worth only then he will get our support not when he is pathetic but getting the credit for his teammates superb performances!!
