Also, the relative number of wins over the number of matches played is also not as good. You might want to use the normalized value over the actual number as that would put things in perspective.
BAN = 9/37 = 24%
NZ = 7/28 = 25%
WIN = 7/37 = 19%
SO NZ was marginally better than us but we were significantly no better than WIN. The not does not in any way take away from our basic premise that we have done as well if not better than NZ and WIN this decade.
Eye opener.
The problem as you have clearly shown is that we are not consistent - and we have been losing more than we should amongst the associates.
How does your analysis look if you limit to the last 5 years?
Its a good sign for sure. 50 matches is a pretty good number for a study, and over the last 2 years, yes we have been no worse than NZ and WI. Gotta keep it up.
In ODIs, we can perhaps start using a term I brought up after the NZ BanglaWash series to replace Great 8...the Fine Nine, F9.

ODI Performances of Bangladesh, New Zealand and the West Indies in the Current Decade
Abdur Rahman Islam
Since the start of the decade, Bangladesh have won more ODI matches against the top 8 teams than New Zealand or West Indies. Abdur Rahman Islam punches numbers and digs through stats to compare the performances of the three teams in this format since 2010. Read article »

Screw the IPL, I'm going to the MLC!
And to think ATMR...you had vanished after that Netherlands loss in 2010...wasn't even aware of the exact date of the first NZ win. That BanglaWash fixed you up pretty good!

Superb article...should be pulled out whenever people question our ODI status.
Also, I've developed and tweaked my own ICC rankings...taking into account factors such as strength of opposition, margins of victory/defeat, and home/away/neutral into the overall ratings. I'm too lazy/busy to update it all by myself since I only know how to do it manually after each series. Can I have my own personal BC staff to help me out???

We've still won more games this decade against top 8 opposition than West Indies or New Zealand. In fact we've won almost every 3rd match against them which is good.
I think your number count for G8 and Non G8 is wrong...Non G8 matches look too less, unless u have considered Zim in G8 for us....14 Matches in ten years against Non G8 is just un believe able....

Bangladesh have the best Win % at 28.57 %. We also have the best W-L ration at 0.40 and the highest batting average, although the 2nd lowest run rate!
WI win % = 25 %
NZ = 21.62 %
ZIM = 19.23% (but 3 of those were against second string India and Sri Lanka sides so 7.69 %).
All teams have just one win, but Bangladesh has played by far the least number of away games, so we have the best win %. Our batting average and run rate are higher only than Zimbabwe's...but as a mark of consistency, we have the highest low score (186) and lowest high score (250).

We are criticized because of our test performance. No higher-ranked team takes us for granted in ODI anymore.

It does not agree with the top table you have. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/eng...ults;type=team

No one except maybe Boycott would question our ODI status. But, do we even care about his comments?
