Its official now. Lota runs out of water.
CSA refuses Bangladesh series
South Africa have declined a proposal from Bangladesh to play three ODIs and five Twenty20 matches in May. Cricket South Africa (CSA) met with the South African Cricketers' Association (SACA) on Tuesday and they decided that the international schedule for 2012 would not allow for the series to take place.
"As much as we would like to help another cricket country, it is not going to be possible," Jacques Faul, CSA's acting chief executive, told ESPNcricinfo. "With the volume of cricket to be played this year, sometimes rest is more important."
SACA had indicated on Monday that they would not support the idea of a series against Bangladesh because of the crowded calendar. On consultation with the medical and administrative staff of the national team, including team manager Mohammad Moosajee and coach Gary Kirsten, CSA felt the same way. "We agreed with SACA," Faul said. "We have a big year ahead and our players are scattered over the IPL and county cricket, so we cannot play this series."
South Africa are due to play Zimbabwe in five Twenty20 practice matches in Harare between June 20 and 24, before heading to England for a tour of over two months. They will then play the World T20 in Sri Lanka and also travel to Australia in October-November, before hosting New Zealand at the end of the year.
The Bangladesh board had approached CSA with the request last week, after their tour to Pakistan was postponed by a court order. Their August visit to Zimbabwe was also moved because of work being done to the pitches in Harare and Bulawayo. It left Bangladesh without any international cricket until the World Twenty20 in September.
With the IPL only ending on May 27, South Africa would have had to play without some of their key players if the Bangladesh series was to take place. CSA decided it would not fit in with their plans to consider the series, which would have had to be played in South Africa. The Bangladesh summer is deemed too hot for cricket while South Africa would have struggled to find a venue as well, with the Highveld (Johannesburg and Pretoria) and Cape Town unable to host matches in winter.

I have always maintained we should tour Ireland. Beating Ireland in Ireland will be extremely difficult for us, but our batsmen will learn a lot from playing in those conditions. And, let's stop worrying about preparation for the T20 WC. There's only so much preparation you can take for a couple of T20 matches. We should instead think long term.

If we want to think long term, beating Ireland in their homeground is not the solution TBH. As long as we are not preparing bouncy pitches in our own stadiums for our domestic leagues, these tours will provide nothing but occassional embarrassment.
Hence I'm not really all that eager for this Europe tour.

Exactly. Yes playing in Ireland will help our players but how do they prepare for the Ireland tou? by playing in slow pitches? We have to prepare some fast bouncy pitches back home first , than play teams in fast pitches to see how much we improved.

^ To be honest I dont trust this report..Shamokal is claiming that the SA didnt reject our proposal officially but we know they did..

An open letter to our bcb president!
Dear Lotus uncle,
Please ban yourself from the media for a month. Your professional media personnel (from BCB) should be handling the media. Please lock yourself up in your office to analyze our cricket future/cricket infrastructure/bcb calender. Start thinking about the solutions...discuss it with your a million 25 directors in team meetings (via video conference, phone conference, e-mail, chat etc). Do some background research, and then approach other cricket boards. That way you are going to save your face, our face and most importantly our beloved Bangladesh from these kinds of embarrassments. I believe you are a good person, a great father/family-man, a great businessman, a shrewd politician BUT YOU are NOT a good BCB president. It's ok because one can't do it all. You talked about Mushfiq when he (a youngster, at least half your age) mishandled the BD-media questions after the semi-final match (in BPL.) He had to answer it to you. But when you do worse than that (continuously) to the world media, who is going to hold you responsible? If you don't have enough time to handle all BCB Affairs properly, please step-down, hire a professional and allow him/her to do the job properly. There are no questions about your love for the BD cricket and that should be the reason for you to step down. If you do so like our Rail-montri (did), we the BD people will remember you fondly about some of the good work you've done (i.e. WC '11 in BD.) Since you are our active BCB president, we'll support you till you find the proper replacement. Meanwhile do us a favor, please don't embarrass your mother-land anymore. While you are at it, please do your job properly and handle the BCB professionally.
Thank you.
Peace Out!
