The title maybe misleading but it's not meant that way. Cook or don't cook, list what you had for breakfast, lunch or dinner..

Very multi-cultural lunch:
Sirloin steak. Medium rare. Crushed garlic, cracked pepper and salt marinade. Overnight. Pan grilled in a cast iron skillet with a mix of butter and olive oil.
Home made garlic bread. An Italian bread sliced and then added a spread of butter and freshly crushed garlic and a sprinkling of parsley flakes. Toasted till crunchy.
Sautéed bokchoy. Smoking hot wok with sesame oil Added dried red chili peppers and lots of minced garlic and stir fried until caramelized. Then add the bokchoy and toss for about 3 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.
Then reduced the skillet drippings into a sauce. Deglazed the pan with a Pinot Noir. Added some cream and Dijon mustard until the sauce thickened.
They all came together really well.
This was a joint effort. I did the steak and bokchoy. The wife did the garlic bread and sauce.
The daughter washed the dishes.

Lunch today: Rice free Vietnamese Cauli-Fried Rice with Nước Chấm sauce.
Amazed how good it turned out. You can't even tell there is no rice in this fried rice dish. The cauliflower is a great substitute. I will definitely make it again.
Grated cauliflower worked as the rice substitute. Proteins in the dish were diced chicken breast and shrimp. In addition to onion and garlic, other vegetables included chopped asparagus, diced carrots, peas, and corn. I stir-fried it in a mixture of olive oil and sesame oil and used only salt and pepper to taste.
I drizzled the Nước Chấm sauce before serving. This sauce has lemon juice, apple cider vinegar, fish sauce, water, and splenda (the recipe called for molasses or brown sugar but I wanted it carb friendly).
The recipe I kind of followed is here.

The Mexican styled beef crepe sounds interesting. I love crepes. What was in it? Was it more like a quesadilla? Or beef served with taco sauce? Open faced or rolled like a chimichanga/enchilada?

It was more like enchilada even wrapped like it but the layer was thin and crispy just like a crepe....but was yummier than the usual enchiladas....

spicy chicken strips and couscous - Quick & easy.
So much healthier than rice, I've tried hard to convert my extended family, with mixed results.
