Default Much Awaited Pacer All-Rounder

Is Zia the Answer to our much desired pacer all rounder ... Looked like he is a lot improved bowler in this series. Or is he just going to be another Farhad?

Zia has done well with the bat before, although he hasn't been any any good in this series.

i heard all rounder is someone whose batting average is comparable with his bowling average. and the good ones have their batting average above their bowling.
Judging his odi performance, he is way way i mean way behind being an All rounder. Even mash is above him being an all rounder. i am not sure about his fc records so only judging by his odi and t20s

I am not too optimistic about his batting. He is at best a Mashrafe type batsmen. He slogs blindly.

bowling allrounder ? may be. I will be happy if he takes wickets or at least be economical and scores a few runs.

allrounder? someone who performs equally in both batting and bowling. he doesn't have the batting technique to be a batsman.

I was impressed with his bowling during T20 match against the mighty WI at Dhaka , when Samuel was raining four and sixes with others but was defensive against Zia . I like Zia because he bowls with brain , very smart , consistent with line , length and variation .

Mashrafe is a way better batsmen than Zia. So if you were waiting for a pacer all rounder, you had Mash all this time. But too bad he's so injury prone.

From zero to Hero like instant coffee?

First let him enjoy his recent bowling success that he got in recent games and let him give few more chances and let us wait and see how he grow before announcing him the next big thing comming to solve all our problems.

Zia has a very good potential of becoming a pace allrounder. He needs to work a lot on his batting though. Today he was going after every single deliveries without any footwork and was looking clueless.

Mash is our ideal Paceer Allrounder but he is coming close to an end because of his best friend injury. And that's why we need to build Zia up. I am sure he won't disapoint us

his bowling is coming along, needs to replicate it against better opposition but he's starting to chug out some results.

Yes, if by all rounder you mean someone who will end up with a batting average of around 5.00 in all formats.

His batting is worse than a #11 like Shahadat's or Rubel's. His bowling has been effective here vs ZIM, but I doubt he could make inroads against class batsmen. Maybe in ODIs he could get a Kohli out, but not in Tests I don't think.

He is just a bowler.

So initially he was a pace bowler, and after the injury he became a batsmen, and after making the national team he changed into a bowler. I think changing into a spin bowler and wicket keeper are left in his agenda.

1. Zia: Has emerged as an effective bowler but can't bat.

2. Raju: Can bat but has SERIOUS accuracy issues with the ball.

3. Babu: Can bat but the jury's still out about his bowling ability at the highest level.

still reckon if it's a pacer allrounder they want then babu is the one to try, if he can't manage it then i don't think there's anyone at this time who can...what are soumya and asif like with the ball?

That's up to him. If he works hard on his own the way Shiblu did, better pitches and better teams will only aid his bowling InshAllah.
