we fans need to come down. everybody knocking zia out..he's just made a debut on a foreign soil and how do u expect him to connect every ball? even Tamim and co. were having problem with connecting the ball. Like Miraz vai said, I also believe as the series goes on our boys will get better. One thing I didn't like is the body language of the players at the fielding time. Hopefully that will get better also.

And I dont think nasir and riad are fit for T20 cricket. The way nasir has and always failed to hit a boundary from a poor ball shows his inability to force a boundary. I dont doubt his ability in longer formats, but in T20s u need some1 like mominul
Nasir Hossain not out 29 23 15 3 0 193.33
um so nasir strikes at nearly 200 and hes not fit for T20 cricket? he hits 3 boundaries, one of a perfect yorker, and that shows his inability to force a boundary? i fear the day mominul plays and hearing your comments on here

I agree with M2M and kiwibd - I think Nasir is one of our best T20 players, even if he isn't a power hitter. I think his biggest plus point is that he is an excellent fielder and runs rapidly between the wickets, an ability few of our players have. With more experience at this level, I'm sure we'll see an increased array of strokes from him. Look at the Cricinfo scorecard from when he started batting in the 16th over - he hardly played a dot ball!

We lost the game when we started to chase like ODI... only singles will not get us anywhere in T20...

The Problem is not the players the MIDDLE ORDER is the problem for Bangladesh
if you see all the matches BD failed in the Middle Order.... its not that ZImbabwe played exceptional Cricket .. The Middle order needs to get steady mushfiq , jahurul or naser needs to give us a stable middle order..

The only replacement of Ashraful I can think of is Anamul. Junaid is not a versatile batsman, nor is Jahurul (whose batting in the Asia Cup was absolutely spiritless). Like Ashraful, Anamul can middle the ball, and possesses most of the proper cricketing shots. If Ashraful plays, he should open though. He would fare worse as a slogger. He is a gamble worth-taking, when you don't have good replacements.

As for Tamim, he is not a big-hitting player, even if he can play big shots. One can't expect a Gayle-ish onslaught from him. True that he misconnected few shots today, but that's not yet a matter of concern. His elegance lies in his proper treatment of proper deliveries. He may have a lack of temperament, which, IMO, more of a psychological issue.

We shouldn't single out players. I thought it was just a bad batting performance by everyone. Tamim and Ash were batting way too slowly, especially Ash. Once they got out they just left the middle order way too much to do. Mushy and Mahmudullah failed completely. Their proving to be players that hit every once in a while and then fail. Ziaur is still a new guy so I won't be really that harsh on him but I would say he was below par today. The only batsman that performed well was Nasir and the guy continues to impress.

If we want to win matches, then our batsmen are going to have to man up and take risks or else teams will beat us easily.

our batting is horrible in T20s.
as long as it stays horrible we cant beat any team.
I think we should have more matches in next BPL if our T20 schedule remains like this.
the only reason we do better in ODI is because thats what we play more often.

Love the war of attrition between us because as a Bangladesh never-die, I have nothing better to do. When their trundlers out-trundle ours, they win. When our brain-fartedious batters make less unforced batting errors, we win. But Asaad is right, we're still way better in ODIs, and when we finally have a team free of dead weight, one can always hope, we'll be better in all 3 formats.

Referring to jahirul's performance in practice match; why didnt he come after mushfiq??? He proved that he can play big shots

BTW, guys its better for us not to focus too much on T20. It’s better if the team stay focused 200% to test & ODI. We shouldn't expect them to get better in all 3 format at the same time. Do not forget we have limitation and we should grow up according to that. fficeffice" />

For the last 5 years in ODI, Bangladesh won 15 and lost 8 against Zim.

Why did Bangladesh lose to Zimbabwe?
- Because before the match, the Bangladeshi players came to BanglaCricket.com and visited the 'Forget Cricket' section!

Cant really be sure whether he actually hit the ball big, just because hit 3 sixes not to mention you cant suggest the size of the boundaries but yeah def. couldve come earlier. Still think that Ziaur messed up pretty bad, was sent to pinch hit and after hitting a boundary or two he failed to rotate the strike something that also led to downfall of tamim and made the entire thing worse for our team. And with this kind of batting I wont be suprised if he is unable to book a place in ODIs (test-er kotha ar bollam na)

What I've seen in Jahirul is he try to send the ball over the rope and not all over the field but to his strong side which is midwicket I guess.

And Zia is not naturally skilled batsmen mate, he is the converted one...we can't really expect much from him except some slog
