Both kevin petersen and chris gayle are seriously talented players but they are a bad influence for cricket. In my opinion both of these guys prefer money over national commitments and have now set the precedent for others to ditch the national team and play for lucrative contracts in private leagues.

Can we blame them? KP was born & brought up in SA & CG is a Jamaican.

Breaking news: KP dropped from the squad for the third Test after he fails to confirm that he did not send derogatory texts about Strauss and Flower to the South African players.

Sometimes cricket needs sagas like this.

But, kudos to the ECB for being stern and how they handled it.

I don't blame them because in sports you cannot stay at your peak for too long and they are basically looking after their own future. This has happened during the Kerry Packer era too with top players rushing to join a rebel league.
My worry is that rather than having to deal with a few star players, in the future, the boards might have to deal with the whole team wanting to play private leagues around the world.

This whole saga has been a source of great entertainment for me

Hope he gets into a game, and starts arguing with England players on the field.

Default Pieterson Drama - "I am who I am"

or Drama Queen Pieterson...

1. I will play for England but I will decide which one..
2. I will play for England but only few ODIs, because I need time to play IPL
3. I will only play Tests and 'I think' I will retire from ODIs but play T20
4. I have just played Test v SA (my birth country) and texted my ex SA pals about how cr*p my English team mates are
5. Self made video interview - OK I am sorry I will play all England matches whenever requires and I will not retire .. (oh yes and I am NOT sorry about texting my old pals)
6. Sh*T I have been dropped from the Test squad
7. OK OK I am sorry about those texts too...

^ KP is one of the best T20 batsman out there. If KP comes to BPL that will work in our favor, KP comes with a lot of media attention. Another word good chance for BPL to show the media what it has to offer. BPL is in no position to turn away someone like KP even if he is a drama queen, assuming he would actually want to come.
