It wud be stupid if our bench is not tested, need to give chances to guys like jahurul and junaid. Ash and tamim has played a lot of matches, drop 1. drop nasir or riad if necessary. Give the boot to either lalla or chunny boy for shafiul, or even abul(i dont want)

we shudnt be complacent but nevertheless, it would be stupid if our benchstrength isnt tested

Should Let Players Like Abul Hasan, Nazmul Hossian, Junaid Siddique & Jahurul Islam Play Against Scotland!

may be I'm wrong but my personal opinion is,rather than testing bench strength we better stick to this team(3rd T20) as all 11 performed and make sure we go up the ranking.
This is our best 11 for T20 WC.
although I feel for JS & Jahu.
We r still not that dominant.

ya, first priority is to get enough practice and prepare the playing 11 for the world cup. Bench can do it in the nets.

Otherwise, Performance against Scotland and Ned won't be even remotely ideal to decide on playing 11.

I won't experiment with the openers just yet. I strongly feel things can be resolved at that position over this tour. I don't think either of the openers warrant being benched at this point before giving that possibility a shot. Both of our openers have great ability, the type of ability you're pretty much born with, and I'm sure the coach will try to build the right type of cohesion and synergy that can create a successful opening partnership between the two.

That being said, I wouldn't mind seeing Junaid as a probable powerhitter down the order. Since Zia isn't being used as a bowler at all, Nazmul is a better seamer anyday, and Junaid has more variety in his powerhitting, the idea may be worth a shot.

So my XI for the Scotland match:

1. Tamim (no designated role or premeditated shots, just see the ball and play the ball according to merit)
2. Ashraful (no designated role or premeditated shots, just see the ball and play the ball according to merit)
3. Shakib (multiple gears, possible virtual opener, strike bowler, possible opening bowler)
4. Riyad (multiple gears, middle overs bowler)
5. Mushfique (multiple gears)
6. Nasir (multiple gears, bowl him)
7. Junaid (powerhitter)
8. Mashrafe (powerhitter, middle overs strike bowler)
9. Sunny (strike bowler)
10. Razzak (opening bowler)
11. Nazmul (bowl him, opening bowler)

Testing our bench strength better not result in a loss to the Scots or the Dutch.

I don't know anything about Scotland cricket. Are there any "must know" players on that team?

Junaed is a classic T20 player , after his brilliant performances in BPL how come he was not given chance ? May be our bias selectors are afraid that if junaed showed his class then one of the current openers will be drop !!

Id beg to disagree, what will happen if someone suffers from a niggle? Or from sickness or off-form? What are we left with?

Thats why big teams rest big names just not for the fitness of the big players but crucially providing oppurtunities for others. Look at English side, their players are rotated so much that all of them get good intl exposure and as a result even if one player is missing the team is still strong. However there is an exception in swann, and thats because there is no quality spinner like swann in England, let alone world class, not to mention the English dont even test their spinners

shakib performed only in the first match with the bat, and yet it didnt matter much because we would win by a big margin anyway.

Zimbos are definitely better than ireland and they proved that by winning the Tri-series. The point to be made is that Zimb are a test team with a FC structure, a proper T20 league with franchises and also a lot of experience.

@BK: I can't believe you used the "P" word and managed to get away with it

You didn't use the right P/H-word BTW in your post. That better word has something to do with the NK-CTG hornaunsishon of THIS KOREAN MOTOR COMPANY.
