I would like to see all the pacers play this game because pace bowling is the biggest worry for this tournament. More often than not our spinners will do the job asked of them but two or three radar-less overs from Abul Hassan and co. could really ruin it for us.

Thats exactly why i want this match to be an experiment. In the team that i have made there are 5 pace bowling options. From this experimentation we can select which pace bowlers should play through the tournament because pace bowling is a big worry for BD. Farhad Reza might suprise as all in terms of his pace bowling. If he does well then we can bring Farhad into the team as a specialist pace bowler.

I would also like to see who is the better performer from Siddique and Jahurul so we have an idea of who should be our backup top order batsmen just incase Ashraful plays bad or if an injury pops up.

You want Iceman to open??!?! ^^

I'd still go with Tamim/Ash opening combo. Followed by JD, Shak, Mushy, Mahmudullah, Naeem (he's in right?), Mash, Shafi, Razzak, Rubel

Yeah didn't we lose the last one against them? No wait, that was unofficial and we got our butts handed to us in that tournament (last) and they won.

In my opinion, we should play with the team that will face NZ. We've already had plenty of time figuring out our best XI. We should let our XI gel with each other before the big game. Too many mixed combinations could mess with the players although I'm not completely against the idea but it's better to have a fixed combo. To me, Abul, Farhad, Junaid, and Jahurul miss out.

i reckon opening with Shakib isnt a bad idea because most teams will open the bowling with spinners so if we get Shakib in as soon as possible then it might relieve some early pressure.

My Team Vs Zimbabwe

1) Tamim Iqbal
2) Mohammad Ashraful
3) Ziaur Rahman
4) Mushfiqur Rahim
5) Shakib Al Hasan
6) Nasir Hossain
7) Mahmudullah Riad
8) Mashrafe Bin Mortaza
9) Abdur Razzak
10) Shafiul Islam
11) Elias Sunny

Shakib should stay at No.5 permanently, incase we have a top order collapse, you can always depend on Shakib & Nasir to guide us to a decent recovery. Otherwise if Shakib, Tamim, Mushfiq & Ashraful get's out early, I can't imagine Mahdmullah or Ziaur helping at all. If the top order struggle's Ziaur Rahman will definately start hitting the ball eye closed and Mahmudullah as usual.

Bat first, put on a huge total and then bowl them out. Should not be too hard.

^¨ Î agree , bat first, we need to learn how to set up big totals aswell as giving our batsman opportunities to score well.
We r good at chasing but we need to know how to induce high scoring pressure on our opponents.

That is the point. Not only in T20 this is applicable in every format. After losing 3/4 wickets games become finished and quality batsman got demoralized ultimately they can Do nothing.

We ll have to play in siming conditions. I think it will be better to give some practice to our pacers and it will be better not to experiment with the batting line up. My team :
1. T I K
2. Ash
3. Shakib
4. Mushy
5. Riyadh
6. Nasir
7. Zia
8. Mash
9. Raj
10. Shafiul
11. Abul

For this match i would want Shakib to open but realistically he will bat at #3 throughout the whole tournament. Shakib is there during collapses and i think he should hold onto that role. If Shakib/Tamim fall early then the only person we would be depending on is Mushfiq.

Realistically if a collapse does happen the person i would want to rely on is Shakib. So we might have to tinker with the batting lineup to make sure Shakib is there when a collapse happens.

Shakib Al Hasan has said that it will be an achievement if Bangladesh makes it through to the knock out stages of the ICC T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.

Shakib acknowledged the strength of the group that Banglaedsh have been placed in but said that on a given day, this Bangladeshi team can create upsets.

"If our players can play to their potential, we'll definitely do well," he said in an interview conducted by the ICC.

Having played in the Indian Premier League and several Twenty20 tournaments, Shakib believes that every ball bowled in T20 cricket can make a difference.

"It's really difficult to predict the most difficult team in this format of the game. It's a kind of game that can change in seconds," he added.

Echoing Shakib's views, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza stated that the team has improved by a huge degree in recent times.

"We have three world-class spinners and we have got a few good 'quicks' as well," he said. The pacer who has constantly battled injuries to stay in the team has been known to have a calming effect on the team's bowlers. "I don't have much of a personal goal. All I want to do is put in a match-winning performance for my team," he said.

Tamim Iqbal, who played for Wayamba United in the Sri Lankan Premier League, claimed that he had now developed a good understanding of the Sri Lankan conditions. "I think it (SLPL) has raised my confidence level and that of my teammates who played in the competition. We know what to expect. It was a well-run tournament (for me) and I am happy for the experience.

The dashing opener stated that the wicket in Pakelele would be evenly balanced.

"It is a very fine sporting wicket with a bit in it for everyone. If you get set then you can play your strokes. On the other hand it also keeps the bowlers interested," said Tamim.

Like his teammates, Tamim believes that Bangladesh's pre-World Cup tours have helped the team gel together and raise the overall confidence. "The team spirit is excellent and everyone is helping each other. If we can take that camaraderie on to the field and perform to the level we are capable of then I see no reason why we should not get our desired results," said Tamim.

"I believe I am much better prepared. I have played over 20 matches in this format during the last few months and I definitely have a fair idea of what is required," he added.

Bangladesh will play their first warm-up game against Zimbabwe today, at the Colts Cricket Ground in Colombo. They'll play their second warm-up game against Ireland on September 17

Lack of confidence? Why not bat first and build up big score? Or is there something for bowlers?

Edit :We are so 'doomed'. Should've batted first
