There's some merit to that. If Saqlain Sajib and Sunny could have run through the Windies batters than Enam & Shaq would have a mental edge in the Tests.

Those words are coming out of Harsha, so I won't go and defend myself. Just one point though..We are not as strong as Australia. They have quality batsmen, quality bowlers. Their #4,5 players can walk into any national team in the world. We on the other hand have to rely profoundly on our spinners. Actually our only chance to do anything in this series is if our spinners click. So didn't want to give WI the luxury to get accustomed to any sort of spin. But Harsha has a valid point..

Does BCB know that the series is about to start?

‘Saqlain has helped me a lot. I am actually not a big turner of the ball and Saqlain has taught me how to do it. I have practiced it and received good results in the ongoing National Cricket League.
‘He also taught me the doosra and carom ball, but told me to practice it during off-season,’ Sohag said of the benefits he received from Saqlain.
Sohag has an impressive record of bowling for long spells for his regional side Barisal and he said that though it is difficult but it has helped him to concentrate more and bowl at one spot. http://www.newagebd.com/detail.php?d...1-07&nid=29252

True but our #4 and #5 spinners could probably get a cap for sides like WI, NZ, AUS, and perhaps even RSA.

i think the batting strength is getting stronger, so even though spin is a big part of it the batting could be to. tamim has been in terrific form, anamul just hit good form, mominul has been in form (not only that but just made a huge partnership with tamim so they obviously bat well together which means a greater chance of more and bigger partnerships), shakib is a performer period, nasir has been really steady (hit some runs in NCL and is an international performer), mushy might not be in form but he has the skills and could comeback to form at anytime, naeem has been in terrific form, junaid just hit a big ton.
a lot of batsmen having been scoring lots of runs recently in the FC format and obviously test cricket is a step up but i think the batting could come good. if tamim, anamul and mominul are to be our top 3 then our top 3 players like to score big tons so we have a good chance of getting off to a good start and with a good start that motivates others, plus shakib can always score runs, not much rattles nasir so he's generally always got a chance of scoring a few runs to. i think with tamim, anamul, mominul, naeem (in tests), nasir, mushy, shuvagata, riyad the future of BD's batting is looking good. it's already starting to come good with tamim, shakib, nasir and mushy.

Some people must be high if they think we are anywhere near as good a team as West Indies let alone Australia (top 3 test/ odi team)

According to PA, practice match may be abandoned without a ball bowled due to poor drainage system in BKSP although weather in Dhaka is sunny today.Selectors will depend on reputation of players rather than current performance if practice match is abandoned..

As a team, we definitely are capable of beating WI... Whether we will do it or not, that's a different question... We will win, if the players believe in their abilities and play for winning it.

1) Gayle to score double ton?
2) Samuels to score century + Man of series?
3) Darren Sammy to be leading wicket taker (out of all people)?
all this looks realistic

You really think so? Good to see that you rate our players that high. I don't unfortunately..I only consider Shakib and Tamim who are capable of getting a cap of other nations. But some of those young kids look very promising

Enamul Jr and Sunny could tear WI apart if the pitch is made accordingly...

But look at how weak the spin attacks are of some of these sides. Australia only has Lyon. Would you really rate Doherty or Beer over the likes of Enamul or Saqlain? Now let's look at NZ, who do they have besides Vettori? Would you say that Nethula, Patel and Hira are better then Enamul or Saqlain. Even let's look at England, besides Swann, they have Panesar and Tredwell. Are these guys really that good either?
I believe that are our spinners could really make these sides because the other sides cupboard is quite bare after their premier spinners.

Yea you guys rate really high on the list of teams with quality spinners. This is the list I would say
1. Pakistan
2. Bangladesh
3. Sri Lanka
4. India
5. WI
6. England
7. SA
8. AUS
You guys have the 2nd best spin attack in cricket right now. West Indies is DOOOMED!
