The BCB could not immediately confirm who would replace Kamal until their elections in November. A source in the board told ESPNcricinfo that either the government will appoint a successor (Kamal himself was a government-appointed BCB president) or the senior vice-president, Mahbubul Anam, may be slotted into the president's role for the interim.

A proposed BCB constitutional amendment, which has been sent to the National Sports Council for ratification, states that the next BCB president is to be elected democratically. The most widely discussed successors to Kamal's post at the moment are Saber Hossain Chowdhury (a former BCB president), Nazmul Hasan (son of the country's president Zillur Rahman) and the chairman of one of the leading Bangladesh cricket clubs, Abahani Cricket.

Who is Nazmul Hasan? Here is some information about him.

Papon (Nazmul Hasan): MBA (Student of Dhaka laboratory, Dhaka College, Dhaka University, IBA.), Ruling Party MP, Son of President Zillur Rahman & late Ivy Rahman, Cousin of Retd. Maj. Gen. Tarek Rahman Siddique (advisor to hasina), Grand son of late prof. Jallal-uddin Ahmed (Principle of Dhaka College in its golden era), MD of Beximco Pharmaceutical, Execuive of Abahani. Don't know if he want's it now as he was offered before and rejected the opprtunity (it was between him and Lotus Kamal). If he wants it, he will get it. he is conserdered as Hasina's inner cricle.

I am guessing it would be someone else.

আম্পায়ার নাদির শাহর ম্যাচ পাতাতে রাজি হওয়ার ঘটনায় যখন বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটে নেতিবাচক ছায়া, তখন কলম্বো থেকে এল সুখবর। ২০১২ থেকে ২০১৪—এই দুই বছরের জন্য আইসিসির সহসভাপতি নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন বিসিবির সভাপতি আ হ ম মুস্তফা কামাল। নতুন নিয়মে ২০১৪-১৫ সালের জন্য তিনিই হবেন আইসিসির আলংকারিক সভাপতি। কলম্বোয় কাল আইসিসির নির্বাহী কমিটির সভায় সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে এ সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে।
সরকার মনোনীত হিসেবে সংসদ সদস্য মুস্তফা কামাল বিসিবির সভাপতির দায়িত্ব নেন ২০০৯ সালের সেপ্টেম্বরে। এরপর আইসিসির আবর্তন নীতি অনুযায়ী, ২০১১ সালের ১৭ ডিসেম্বর বিসিবি ও পিসিবির পক্ষ থেকে আইসিসির পরবর্তী সহসভাপতি হিসেবে মুস্তফা কামালের নাম প্রস্তাব করা হয়। এ ব্যাপারে গত জুনের আইসিসির সভায় সিদ্ধান্ত হওয়ার কথা থাকলেও গঠনতন্ত্রে কিছু সংশোধনী আনায় বিলম্বিত হয়ে যায় সেটি। তবে ওই সভায় সহসভাপতি হিসেবে মুস্তফা কামালকে তাঁর লক্ষ্যের কথা জানাতে বলে আইসিসি। তিন দিনব্যাপী সভার দ্বিতীয় দিনে কাল আইসিসির নতুন সহসভাপতি সেটা জানিয়েছেন আইসিসির বোর্ডকে। ব্যাখ্যা করেছেন পদটির জন্য কেন তিনি যোগ্য। ৫২ পৃষ্ঠার বক্তব্যে মুস্তফা কামাল বলেছেন ক্রিকেটের সঙ্গে তাঁর দীর্ঘদিনের সংশ্লিষ্টতার কথা। তুলে ধরেছেন ভবিষ্যৎ স্বপ্নের কথাও।

কাল কলম্বো থেকে টেলিফোনে প্রতিক্রিয়া জানাতে গিয়ে মুস্তফা কামাল বলেছেন, ‘এটা বাংলাদেশের মানুষ এবং বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটকে গৌরবান্বিত করল। সম্মানিত করল। বাংলাদেশ সরকার এবং সরকারের মাননীয় প্রধানমন্ত্রী শেখ হাসিনার অকুণ্ঠ সমর্থন ছিল আমার প্রতি। আমি তাঁদের প্রতি কৃতজ্ঞ। এ ছাড়া বিসিবি এবং আইসিসির যেসব দেশের সমর্থনে সহসভাপতি হয়েছি, তাদেরকেও ধন্যবাদ জানাই। এটা বাংলাদেশের ১৬ কোটি মানুষের বিজয়।’
আইসিসির সহসভাপতি হিসেবে মুস্তফা কামালের কার্যকাল শুরু হয়ে গেছে গতকাল থেকেই। ২০১৪ সালের জুন পর্যন্ত তিনি এই পদে থাকবেন। পরের এক বছর থাকবেন আলংকারিক সভাপতি। বাংলাদেশ থেকে এই প্রথম কেউ আইসিসির শীর্ষ কোনো পদে বসলেন।

আইসিসির গঠনতন্ত্র সংশোধনের পর মনে হচ্ছিল, মুস্তফা কামালের সম্ভাবনা হয়তো শেষ হতে চলেছে। আইসিসির সহসভাপতি বা সভাপতির আসনে বসা হবে না বাংলাদেশের। কিন্তু বিসিবির সভাপতি বরাবরই ছিলেন আত্মবিশ্বাসী। আত্মবিশ্বাসের কারণটাও জানালেন কাল, ‘আমার সহসভাপতি না হওয়ার কোনো কারণ ছিল না। এ ব্যাপারে সাংবিধানিক বাধ্যবাধকতা ছিল এবং সেটা আমি জানতাম। আশাবাদী ছিলাম সে জন্যই। তবে এটা গত জুনের সভাতেই হয়ে যাওয়ার কথা ছিল।’ আইসিসির সভায় সর্বসম্মতিক্রমেই সহসভাপতি নির্বাচিত হয়েছেন মুস্তফা কামাল। টেলিফোনে তিনি জানিয়েছেন, ‘ভোটাভুটি হলেও বাংলাদেশের বিপক্ষে কোনো ভোট পড়েনি। আমি সর্বসম্মতিক্রমে সহসভাপতি নির্বাচিত হয়েছি।’

সংশোধিত গঠনতন্ত্র অনুযায়ী মুস্তফা কামালই হবেন আইসিসির শেষ সহসভাপতি। ২০১৪ সালে তাঁর মেয়াদ শেষ হওয়ার পর আইসিসিতে আর সহসভাপতি পদ থাকবে না।

আইসিসির সহসভাপতি হয়ে যাওয়ার পর গঠনতন্ত্র অনুযায়ী এখন মুস্তফা কামালকে বিসিবির সভাপতির পদ ছাড়তে হবে। নির্বাচনের মাধ্যমে বেছে নেওয়া হবে নতুন বোর্ড সভাপতি। তবে কবে, কী প্রক্রিয়ায় সেটি হবে, দেশে ফিরে বোর্ডের সঙ্গে কথা বলেই সেসব সিদ্ধান্ত নেবেন বলে জানিয়েছেন মুস্তফা কামাল। আগামীকাল তাঁর দেশে ফেরার কথা।
আইসিসির বড় পদে চলে গেলেও দেশের ক্রিকেটের সঙ্গে আগের মতোই সম্পৃক্ত থাকার ইচ্ছা মুস্তফা কামালের, ‘আমি দেশের ক্রিকেটের জন্য সব সময়ই কাজ করেছি, ভবিষ্যতেও করব। ২৭-২৮ বছর ধরে আমি ক্রিকেটের সঙ্গে আছি। বোর্ডে না থাকলেও জীবনের শেষ দিন পর্যন্ত বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটের সেবা করতে চাই।’

আইসিসির সহসভাপতি নির্বাচিত হওয়ায় বিসিবির সভাপতি মুস্তফা কামালকে অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছে বাংলাদেশ আম্পায়ার্স ও স্কোরার্স অ্যাসোসিয়েশন।

one of the worst cricket news for bangladesh cricket , bcz bangladesh never had president like mostofa kamal before , under his presidency atleast we got no corruption in cricket , we have some world class stadium , we are atleast better team than before , he is the only president who stayed in the same hotels as players were and watch them closely adn showed his love about bangladesh cricket , i just hope he reject this offer , and let icc noe just bcz he was from bd doesnt mean they have to change the presidency role and shamed bd lyk that , seriously it will be a big epic fall for bangladesh cricket if he left bd board presidency ,
