Clarke bats too low down the order. I'm sure once Ponting retires him and Hussey will bump up by one place. Even Hussey bats low, how many teams have a #6 averaging 50? Then again how many teams have a #10 averaging 113?

Marsh is a better option? What makes u say that? Khawaja is probably the most likely to get into the Aussie team by miles. In domestics atm he is topping the run scoring charts. He batted in ruthless bowling conditions in Tasmania and still managed to score a century. And all the team totals in that game were less than 200. Shows how upto the task he is.
Ponting was in real good form in domestics as well. Im confident that he well bounce back with a big score.

The way we play tests, only we can break Aus's day 1 record.

Only added 6 runs to his overnight total. Bit of an anti-climax in the end.

South Africa have collapsed to 257/7. I don't rate SA's lower middle order and they've proved me right. Rudolph needs to go. SA will miss Duminy. Amla's wicket yesterday was a big one to get for Australia. SA need to avoid the follow on to stay in this match.

Kallis gone. SA 8 down. SA need 8 more runs to avoid the follow on.

This test is wide open. I hope SA can keep the target under 400. But With 2 more days to go anything is possible.

Good effort from SA with the ball. I think with Clarke and Hussey at the crease the Aussies will take the lead past 400. A lot will depend on Amla and Kallis for SA to save the match.

Reason: Kallis instead of Hussey
