really embarrassing in india's point of view as they asked for this pitch
i hope for their sake they manage to add 100 more runs with the 3 wickets they have left..if india has a target of 100+ to defend this may become a thriller..pitch is doing vangra ATM

Not many people saw this one coming. Great knock from Pietersen. India's batsmen can't play seam, can't play spin; what can they play?

hahaha...India have always been a pathetic team even after having Test status for over 80 years. These Indian fans always talk about how bad our Cricket is when they don't even realise that it took them 20 years to beat only a third sting England side lol

I don't understand why Sachin is still playing I mean he had 2 best periods for him to perfectly retire one was after winning the World Cup held in India and 2 when he achieved his big ton but still wants to continue at such an old age wonder why? hmm 200th test match more records this guy is cynical lost many peoples respect.

lol at tendulkar, after failing for almost 2 years to get 100 against good teams, he finally got it against our crap bowlers and still cost his team the match. He needs to retire with dignity, even after getting thrashed 8-0 now they are going to lose at home.

The people in subcontinent doesn't achieve greatness due to greed...what can you say, it's an uncertain society after all... He will probably leave with humiliation at the end. But that won't affect him much, but the financial gains in return is huge.....

You hit the nail on the head, some Indian journalists pointed out how much Money influences Indian cricket selection specially likes of Dhoni and tendulkar and no matter how much humiliation they face they will still not be dropped because of advertisements and sponsor pressure.

Well played England. I knew they were very professional enough to bounce back and fight hard. They weren't just gonna sit there and take it like the Indians did. Still one more key wicket to go. Hopefully they keep the run in check and chase down a low target.

Sachin in seriously bringing this team down. Time to let go man. Not everything's meant to be forever, you have to realize when your time is up and make the way for the younger generation.
India can still make a game out of this if Bhajji and Gambhir stick around for a while. Even though this English batting line up is quite strong, in test cricket anything can happen. India will have to somehow drag to 150+ lead, and remove Cook, KP early and hope for the best.

Seeing a team like India with so much arrogance, in this position, makes me very happy .
I miss the old Indian team

Haha ok England > India in outside their continent, atleast England can manage to win a match in India whereas India couldn't in England.

lol at Indians crying on cricinfo/ twitter about how sachin has achieved everything while belittling Ponting.. well guess what whiners. Sachin/India has never won a series in Australia or South Africa and only won one world cup and guess what? that was in India. Punter won 3 world cups, 2 as captain and won test series everywhere including India and South Africa. We know who is really playing for records.

Its all about the size of PR machine. Just like Israel gets immunity in the West and is painted as a perfect cherub because that is what is repeated, drilled into hearts and minds via the airwaves and print media, then repeated ad realitum, the idea that SRT is some otherworldly champion has been done similarly. It would be one thing if just Indians bought into the hype, but the whole world is under the impression that SRT is some godly batting hero when he's just simply very good. He may have the best technique, the widest range of strokes, the aestheticism of the Taj Mahal, and superhuman durability, but that doesn't mean he's the best in qualitative terms.
He dominated Australia, the strongest side through most of his career, we're told. But he rarely faced McGrath + Warne in the same attack. The one time he did and ripped the OZ, its never mentioned that Laxman averaged far more than him in the very same series.
He hit a massive 160+ against Steyn, Morkel and company...but its never mentioned that he had 2 let offs before reaching fifty, and three close calls overall. Kallis, who hit almost as big a ton the innings before had zero chances.
He's been to two world cup finals, and and choked to score 20 runs combined in both. In the semis against PAK he top scored, but only after the butterfingered Paksters dropped him 5 times.
He's hardly hit many seriously match-winning knocks, scoring most of his runs in draws or dead-rubber situations. His legendary 100th hundred came in a loss...to Bangladesh. He has one of the lowest fourth innings averages amongst recognized decent batsman; Kallis averages nearly double what he does. In 23 seperate calendar years, he's topped the scoring charts only once.
Yes he's great, and it will be sad when he sets his bat down and calls time...but he's been hyped like no other.
