Looks like after Anamul, Shabbir and Taskin are the next hyped players in BC. So I am keeping my expectation low.

have to agree with this. Look at how the team struggled in the ODIs in Zimbabwe and T20s in Europe. This is the next challenge for the team; how batsmen cope on pitches that aid pace bowlers. Only way the batsmen will learn is by experience on these pitches so we need more tours for the national team and A team.

Ian Pont on Twitter said that Taskin is the next big thing in BD cricket with right guidance and if he can stay fit. Let's hope so. I think a lot of us have high expectations for him as well.

Dont we know that already?

TASKING has been under the radar for three 3years now. Sadly hardly played any cricket dor that period due to various injuries. Hope he gets fit again asap and starts to bowl.

SJ said he would have made his debut early this yr vs Zim if he wasn't an injury prone

Btw his action and run up is so smooth. Best in bd and one of best in world cricket IMHO

hold your horses people. same was said about many of our cricketers, the latest being anamul. In fact it is the less hyped players who have shined for us e.g nasir, gazi, mominul.

so i will wait and see if taskin can deliver.

Nasir was pretty hyped and so were Tamim, Shakib and Mushy. So I disagree with you that less hyped players have shined. Maybe some but not all.

And don't worry, I'll be reserved about Taskin as I am with all the players.

I think guys like Taskin, who are not benefiting from playing domestic cricket and are not ready for the national team yet, need to be sent off to the Ultimate Pace Foundation and similar fast bowling camps around the world. Maybe even the MCI for continuity and consistency. I know Ian Pont gets on a lot of people's nerves here, but even if you think the guy is totally crazy, he is at the end of the day a very good fast bowling coach (and frankly, I think he'd make a very good HC too - not that many others wouldn't). If his ten ads a day on Twitter are any indication, he has a need (or a want, or whatever economic term you want to associate with it) and we have a need, so it's a mutually beneficial business proposition (then again, all things in business are). Our FBs are obviously not getting the kind of coaching they need at home and it might be a bit late for guys like Mashrafe (plus we need him for international fixtures, so can't just send him away for a couple of months), but Taskin and other young bowlers in the backlog could benefit from evading bad habits from a young age.

We just have to make sure that BCB includes a No-Shafiul-Against-India-WC11-Repeat clause in the contract.

Agree with ATMR saw him tweeted today about his training. Why can't this be organized in BD...BCB kono kamer na but hopefully can be done with private sponsors..the prob is will they let that happen

Being the professional that he is, I don't think Shane J would have a problem with an arrangement like this. At the end of the day, he will have bowlers who are better prepared to work with once they make it to the national team. Fewer basics to teach, team does better, Shane J wins.

Great posts as usual ATMR. It would benefit Ian and us if we did this. Our FB's could come in a lot more ready and would have a better understanding of the demands of international cricket.

Also Ian is arrogant but the man backs up his words. He won 2 BPL championships as a coach and we saw improvements in Shafiul and Rubel. For me, if a person can back up his arrogancy, then it's fine by me. It's better than people that are all talk and no game.

I think it's a great idea if Ian contacts Shane or Richard rather than the BCB. I'm sure they'd love the idea

Why cant we bring Taskin, Noor and Sabbir as surprise packages for he T20 World Cup? Remember what South Africca did with Imran Tahir? I say we group these three so good and make them prepared every way possible for them to play well in the world cup! Would be a good idea to surprise a few team.

Oh Tendulkar, please play the match and retire already. Cricinfo is getting so annoying with new articles everyday. They should also analyze his shortcomings as well i.e - poor captaincy records, reluctance to captain side where there were no leaders etc. In my opinion, Lara is still the best and most enigmatic batsmen of the 90s and 2000s.
