I think we missed him...... He bowls close to the stump.... And thus was always effective to both right hand and even left handed..... Even an off form rajjak would have been better than mosharraf or Taijul in odi's

Have a look at our tour itinerary, then you would realize that Razzak has no chance of coming back to NT again. We don't play in home condition till CT 2017 and in away condition in NZ, Ireland and England we would not take specialist spinner. We may see Nasir bowling a lot as accurate darter in away condition instead.

I thought Razzak would have been an ideal replacement for Arafat sunny after Sunny's illegal action debacle. But right now he doesn't stand a chance anymore.

Honestly dont know how he has fared in domestic cricket in recent times.

But in the last few games he played for BD he used to bowl at least a wide cuttable delivery and a long hop every over. Never bowled to his field. When someone from other end would bowl a good over, Razzak would ruin it with a bad one next. Very strange for someone with over 200 ODI scalps.

Having to go back to Razzak really shows how bad our spin situation is. Most international teams have at least two good spinners they can rely on, even Afghanistan. Even George Dockrell of Ireland is far superior to the Taijul's, Sunny's

the only thing I agree with that article is that we haven't found any partner for shakib

No. move on!!!
We don't have much time. Happy our next tour is in NZ where we don't need a spinner other than Shakib but for next homes series, we need to find someone who can at least support Shakib if not anything more

Razzak could only blame himself. In the end he used to bowl a long hop or something down the legs making him an easy picking.

Also, on the field, he was a liability. A useful tailender though. Better than MHRubel for ODIs

How much I wish for another Razzak! Someone that makes themselves a mainstay as the specialist spinner.

Has Shohag Gazi been THAT poor in the domestics?

Doesn't he have a test hattrick AND a century? How does such a player then wander off to irrelevance?

Ridiculously poor article.

The new Razzak was given plenty of the chances, and he remained the new Razzak. Was below average in BPL. He wasn't among the best bowlers in DPL either.

Nasir and Mosaddek are good enough in ODI's and Taijul is also good in Tests. Then we have Miraz who is waiting in the wings. It's not all gloom and doom in our spinners department as some are suggesting here

I thought ASunny is far better than any existing spinners in odi. Lets see how he ll come back. He was instrumental of bd,s success in last year

We missed A Sunny and his skidders big time vs England when there was dew.

This discussion would have been very relevant and fruitful B4 the Afghan and England series....Like it or not, Abdur Razzak in good touch would have definitely troubled both English and Afghan batter. Razzak has a very very solid track record against England(look up the stats)), just like Kayes. too late for this discussion now.

Razzak is not a very smart man(as much as he has made amazing contributions to BD cricket in past)...According to the article Abdur Razzak had a hidden injury throughout 2014...he should have been NOT selfish and informed the management right away so now as a result of his hiding the injury he has been really really crappy in 2014 and now gone forever.

arafat sunny is the most highly underrated player. He came up with early wickets and also came up with break thrus. Somehow always managed to get high profile batsman out.

But he's not in good touch. That's now been the case for eons. What he did once upon a time as a different player is irrelevant now.

He's needed in the ODI team. A must-have esp in the day-night matches because of the dew factor like I mentioned.

Everyone kept mentioning Fizz's absence, but we also were missing Arafat as well as an in-form Rubel and/or a fully in-form Taskin vs England.

That ship has sailed. Razzak was a valuable bowler once upon a time but he lost it towards the end. Has not done much in domestic cricket either to earn a callup.

Our best option who partnered Shakib after Razzak was Arafat Sunny. Have no idea how effective he will be after his re-modeled action but I am willing to give a try in the next home series after CT 2017. Let's hope team management give him another chance.

Actually razzak can add value indirectly . He guided miraz as he mentioned in the news.
